Does mound layering work on black walnut?

I am wondering if anyone knows if black walnut suckers can be mound layered. I cut a black walnut down at my mom's because it was too close to the house and power lines. It should produce quite a few suckers this spring. The nuts were good and had fairly easy to crack shells for a black walnut. I propagate fruit tree rootstocks and some fruiting bushes in stool beds but I've never done nut trees. If anyone has any experience with stool beds for nut trees please let me know how they do. I've already asked at my county extension office but no one there could help. The internet was a waste of time too. Thanks in advance.
