My Potting Bench!

Wasn't sure if this was the right place for this but I had to show everybody what my dear boyfriend built with our left over wood...for my birthday. I am so excited...I love it!! Can't wait til SPRING :)

The potting bench is coming along very nicely!! I'm sure it will be ever evolving as treasures come & go. The photos of the dust storm are so unreal looking!! I just can't imagine! I'm going to have to show the hubby those. We talk about retiring to the Southwest when we're older.... I'm sooooo going to copy that idea of using a strawberry pot for impatiens, but I'll still probably kill them. I always do.

What a great save! I don't know what your garage looks like...the siding...but I think this potting bench would look great painted like your "moon shutter"...those rich greens with a bit of yellow. Your moon shutter would even look great near this piece! I know you LOVE butterflies... it would be nice to tie them in somehow...maybe some netting for backing (not hurricane worthy, I know).. or a butterfly house look cool with the shutter & bench. Oh, anyway, I love your save! Have fun with it ... and will be lookin' forward to pics! Jeanne S.

Here's an update. Potting bench is working great. A bit more cleanup was completed to fit its multi-purpose. Still a couple of items to clear out. Garden tools hang ready. I drag hose in from deck when I need water for potting. The frig made the trip to the porch and is stocked (adult and tamer beverages). Opposite end of room for the non-gardening members of the household. Porch is going to be garden themed and painted a sage green and floors tiled. Not a bad tradeoff for an out of the elements potting shed. Next week my cookers will get the curtain treatment to keep harmony and stay out of site. I also store my potted hosta and plants in the porch over winter. Paul

No this isn't the place for this post, it actually should be at my place. The potting bench that is. Tee hee What a wonderful gift. You will have so much use out of this. Like how he used the lattice for hanging. Congrats and happy b'day.

Smart guy, great way to recycle. Lucky you! And I love that big old tree in the background ... and yes I think this is the perfect place to show off that great potting bench! Maybe Trash to Treasure also. Good to see your post :-)

Fantastic bench! I too love the lattice. It gives the piece a comfy, down home feel. You could work at that bench all day long & never get exhausted.

YOur BF did a great job! Way it's made should last for many yrs. Shop ts (Thrift shops) for pots while it's winter then you will be all set for spring & some serious potting!!Jan
