I'm back with a new BB

I've been trying to post for about 3 weeks now -- my posts seemed to disappear. The comp problems have been taken care of finally so I'm gonna try to post [again].

Here is the latest BB creation ----- a pufferfish. She found a home in the new plant bed.

This one was really fun to do. It did take a little while longer to do, but I finished up other yard projects in between including my sand pail mailbox (luckily the mailman liked it) so it was worth it.

Wow, very original. Great to see people thinking "outside the box", or BB. Perhaps you could describe the process and what you used for the eyes and mouth. Thanks.

New member here. You are SO-O-O-O amazing! I love the movement of the under-water plants coming up from the ocean bottom. TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL! (school of fish) LOL

Hi Parafly9, I too live in Mass, although I am new up here. Apparently the previous owner of the house I just bought put down a KBG and fescue mix last fall. All of my neighbor's yards are turning green, and are now I'd say 80-90% green, while mine is 98% brown. Since you live up here too, I thought you might could tell me if this is normal for this tye of grass, and this time of year, or did I buy a bad lawn? Any help would be appreciated, I am from the south so I am very new to this climate. The tuplips are already 12 inches high and blooming back home, where bulbs are just breaking ground up here.

Sylvia, thank you so much Sylvia. I am sorry to have missed your last swap but this has been a bad year as regards health. You are correct about the diet and I was following my heart and diabetes diet to the letter and forgot about too much potassium so there is a chance my kidneys could wake back up in the next four months or so. Tomatoes and Haas avocadoes did me in. I need to keep busy as I sincerely miss work and the people but my cats and working on getting my garden back in shape helps. I have beds in the ground, three raised beds and lots of containers. I have full sun, half day sun and dappled sun. I can grow almost anything as far as conditions go. This is what I can not have or have too often: Green Beans, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Corn, Eggplant, Green Peas, Kale, Summer Squash, Bell Pepper and all peppers, Cucumber, Lettuce, Onion, Radish and all varieties of herbs and spices. I would greatly appreciate anything you can send as I think your garden is fabulous and I am attempting to pattern mine after yours to a certain extent. LL you are too sweet! Thanks very much, you're very close. I couldn't get to sleep until I figured it out last night, and came up with a plan I really like. And luckily a 24x24 will not only give me everything on my wish list, but a nice sitting room AND a garage space for the truck--AND a second bdrm over the garage--so I'm tickled that I can get all of that in a 24x24, 24x28 worst case scenario. As for the drawing, if you make it 24x24 and move the addition up to the top of the 12x38 wing (ok, its actually one foot off of the corner) then I have room for everything my little heart desires. Thank goodness my friends and handyman and I can handle much of the finish work, and my handyman does excellent plumbing, heating and electrical work. I will hire out the site work and framing and roofing at least, and I need to live here for a year to know the lay of the land and prevailing winds and such before I break ground, but its so exciting to have a project to look forward to again.

Eww, I remember flea beetles. I may have killed all my eggplant seedlings by now--I ran out of space and potting soil and I still have one tray of peat pots indoors--if they're alive, that's where they are. I was growing a long, thin, purple variety and an orange, round, Turkish variety. I hope they're alive. If not, there's next year to try again. By then, I should have all the containers filled, and at least a couple beds complete and plant-able. I also want to add a couple more fruit trees--I have an apple and a pear, but I'd love a hardy peach and apricot as well. I learned to graft fruit trees and grafted two apple trees through the library in Ovid this Spring, but I think they may not have made it. Still, it was a lot of fun to learn how simple the process is. Basically, you need a hardy root, a variety of compatible fruit, a VERY sharp knife, a steady pair of hands, and some wax or other substance to hold the two together while they begin to connect into one plant.

Thanks everyone. The puffer fish was almost as fun to make as the octopus BB. Gotta keep that beachy theme going. My DH keeps wondering when I'm going to run out of ideas and just be "normal". Gee, all this time I thought I was, lol.

susiewants roses-- the "waterplants" actually do sway with
the breeze.

Kathy & countrygrl-- yep its a BB, completed it weighs
about 80 lbs.

marlene-- lol, thanks for the compliment, my kids just
refer to me as crazy.

sunnyca & countrygrl-- I've found a new interest in PVC.
Good thing the DH does underground
const., otherwise I'd be in trouble!

I sent a pic of this to my eldest son, he said he pities anyone that runs through the frontyard and trips into it, guess its a good thing I have a backyard for my grandbaby!

Well I didn't think your Octopus could be matched, but dang, you had no problem doing so. This guy is adorable.
Lots of personality in that face. I'm speechless this is actually a BB. WOW !!
