Ole & Lena Birdhouse, lets see yours!

My Dad made me an Ole and Lena birdhouse a few years ago for Christmas. However, they're so cute, I still haven't put them outside. Instead I use them as a decoration on my 3 season porch. Ya, you betcha they're Minnesota birdhouses! Let's' see pictures of your birdhouse.

I have just come to understand my lithops, having successfully grown them through a season and a half now. :) That seems to be the key with these rock plants... Have to keep them alive for a season or two so you can actually get a chance to learn about them. Unfortunately, all the literature on the web can't help you much with these plants, because while for me they may grow all year round, for you they may only grow during summer, spring or fall. Perhaps in the dead of winter. They are funny that way. The argyroderma still have ne stumped though... No matter what season it is, here's what happens: they shrivel to the point where I think "surely they need water". So I give them a few sprays from a mist bottle. They proceed to either. A.) Not respond. Or B.) Rot and die. I am convinced they don't really grow in the wild and some lab somewhere makes them as some sort of sick joke. D.

Hmm.... I just noticed that Gizmo looks blind in that picture, how do I take that out? I can take the red out of Pearls eyes (I forgot to do that in that one, makes her look like a demon) Gizmo acts like a cat as well, even the stuck up attitude of when you call him to come to you he most of the time just looks at you without moving a inch, unless it is his idea forget about him sitting on your lap or laying by you. Karen, I have never seen a Shih Tzu the color of Cody, that is a awesome color (I could only see the first one however, my computer likes to play games with me) I had one that looked just like Buddy and my mothers Shih Tzu has the same grin as Alex:) All you Shih Tzu owners, does your dogs love those stuffed squeak toys to distraction?? No one is allowed to play with them (works great for getting him to come in when he is playing the game of ignoring you while outside)he will squeak and squeak on them until the squeak is gone, it is almost like a type of aggression therapy for him. I loved seeing everyones pet pictures, a lot of beautiful animals on here:)

Oh, what beautiful pictures! I really must get ‘Bolero.’ It’s enchanting. Here's my 3rd rooster + a smattering of others I make. Even though I'll make a few birdhouses of a particular design I do my best not to make two of any one design look exactly alike. Took this rooster picture just a couple of days ago. Our fall colors here in Eastern Washington are some of the best we've ever seen - and now even getting better as the Tamarack begin to change.

jazzygardener - forgot to mention - I like those faces on your birdhouses. If you do stick them outside I'll bet House Wrens take a liking to them -and- a post of a pic w/ a bird peeking out the mouths would be keen!

The Ole & Lena birdhouses are adorable! And the natural wood is very pretty. Your dad is very talented, jazzygardener! Tell him he did a wonderful job!

My little beach birdhouse is very small. I think only a bee could manage to fit through the hole. I keep it inside with the rest of my collection. Thanks for the compliments.
