I went through all of these steps, even replaced the carburetor. I had to order two packages of the gasket kits to get all of the different I needed. I also replaced the two long bolts with threaded rods that were approximately 4" long (I added lock tight on the engine side) then I could check each part as I put it on. It is maddening to know you did everything and it starts up and mows then it won't start at all. It also seems to lose power as you mow. The solution (for me): The last thing I did was replace the fuel line. No gas coming out of the tank. What!?. I opened the gas cap and the gas shot out. I left the cap a little loose and mowed the yard. Staring and stopping with no issues and lots of power! Lawn is mowed. Now I'm gong to find out how the tank is vented so I can fix that issue.

You should be okay. The Kohler website recommends 10W30 as an alternative to 30 weight, and is good for temperatures from 0 degrees to over 100. Is this a new machine, or did you buy a used one? If new, it is usually recommended to change the oil at the 5 hour mark. Be sure to do this. If you want to use regular 10W30, be sure to monitor the oil level closely, as some engines are said to use more of this oil than straight 30. If you use a synthetic multigrade, the consumption should be more in line with a straight 30 weight.

Normally, I'd be quite critical of someone hauling an old thread out of the archives and reviving it but your post does fit into the spirit in which this thread began. Ask an Ingersoll dealer and they will tell you about the customer loyalty they enjoy thanks to the durability that is built into every one of these garden tractors. I am not being critical when I say that there is nothing all that unique about your 19 years of experience with your GT. When John (Jack) Ingersoll bought the Outdoor Power Equipment Division belonging to J. I. Case and put his name on it, the slogans used in their advertising went as follows: - Quality in the American tradition - Be in a class by yourself - Ingersoll...Invest in the best - The tractor of a lifetime I would have to say that your experience proves that the above slogans were not an exaggeration in any way. I don't know of another tractor today that uses hydraulic drive, offers a large line of hydraulically powered attachments or still builds their garden tractors without compromise. You invested in the best and it paid off in spades because after 19 years of hard use, you still own a tractor that has value to others. If you amortize what you paid for your tractor over the 19 year period and include the cost of replacement parts, the annual cost of ownership of this fine quality machine is very low. The other bonus is the absence of the aggravation factor that comes with owing an Ingersoll. When other people are having to take the time needed to send their low quality machine in for repair and then pick it up, your Ingersoll was at home and ready to do some more work for you. A "generation" occurs every 20 years and to some, that is a lifetime. Your tractor is still far from being dead even after 19 years so Jack Ingersoll wasn't lying when he said his products were "the tractor of a lifetime". I need some help if any on here would mind. My Husvarna riding mower 48 inch yth2348 with a intel v-twin 23hp briggs model#445577 type 0755E1 motor . It started acting like it wanted to die going up hill about 2 years ago but it ran fine after it was on level ground or going down hill. a couple days ago it finally cut off on me and could not get it running. I checked around the fuel pump and i noticed the vacuum hose going from the fuel pump to the valve cover was split. I took the valve cover off and tried to crank it and when i did i noticed a stream of oil shooting out as it turned over.. Didn't think much of that so put the cover back on and I replaced the hose and it started but started smoking really bad and doesn't seem to have very much power. This is the first time it has ever smoked any and now it has a miss in it as well. This all happened all of a sudden on the smoking. I also noticed when i got it back running that oil is seeping out of the fuel pump , i would think that is from the stream of oil i seen when i took the cover off is going up in the vacumn hose now that the cover is back on. Can anyone tell me what would cause these issues on this motor. everything that could possibly be wrong and order to check them first.
