shopping fun!

I really needed some shopping, haven't been in a while and I've been really dragging around here. Too hot to be outside, day or night. On Sat. I had to run an errand and it happened to be by a Goodwill I rarely go to. Then I discovered it was HALF OFF Day. Wooo Hooo. I found some neat stuff and spent too much of course. (half off doesn't help when you buy twice as much. LOL). I found 3 heavy (marble) pillar candle holders, in different sizes. TOTEM coming I think.

I found a big, heavy, blue ashtray. Not cobalt but the same blue as the little Bluebird I got in the Junk Train from Tenderlee. I'm going to make a butterfly bath I think...ashtray is not deep enough for birds. But the little bluebird will look neat in it! I found some iron candle holders, and misc. other things. I was especially ecstatic with some Holiday finds tho! A huge white turkey platter in excellent condition. Its beautiful. Then a Nutcracker on a rocking horse, and a St Patrick's Nutcracker. (I have a collection of them). These were all in new condition! I got great buys on everything and was grinning like a Cheshire Cat. Till I got home to take photos. I dropped my camera and broke it. Nooooooooooo!

I LOVE my camera, its part of me!! Y'all know how I am about photos! I was so upset. A new one is out of the question. But I checked on Amazon and found a used one that is supposed to be in good condition, and affordable.

It should come later this week and I'll hopefully get photos then.

Meanwhile, today I went in the new Ross that just opened last week 2 miles from me. They have the neatest BIG metal butterflies, in several sizes. From big to Huge! I didn't get one because I spotted a tall, skinny, funky metal Rooster and he was calling my name. LOL.

Sorry no photos for now, but I just had to share my happy moments with you.

LOLOL--you sound like me! I saw a bunch more stuff at Goodwill on Saturday--got a few things, but put everything else I wanted on one shelf. Monday is Senior citizens day--I went back today and bought what I left on Saturday. Got my discount! Our GW NEVER has half price day.
I have a Ross about 3 miles away--how much were the butterflies?

WOW Karen...sounds like you hit the jackpot!! So sorry about your camera...hope you can get another one soon...you know how we are about pictures....we can certainly drool over words, but pictures are even better! What wonderful finds! YEEHA!!

My goodness, I am late thanking all of you for the sweet comments. I had so much fun last week with DGD and pooch! Must admit it is more work than I remembered! Marlene, I love those polka dot plates. I'm excited to set a ts with my purple set too. Karen, I did HOP!!! Now I know I'm capable of a lot more than I normally do in the mornings. I can fix pancakes, bacon and do the dishes as well as get another one ready for the day!!! Creek, TJ is a fun addition to my decorating. Can't thank Jeanne enough for that. Seems like my batteries are not keeping a full charge any more.sigh Wish it was as easy as buying some new ones.LOL I worked outside all day yesterday and it really kicked my butt! So appreciate all the sweet comments ladies. Hope all of you have a Wonderful Easter. I did get my pie crusts and dinner rolls made last weekend and in the freezer.Woohoo Punk

Oh it was! I love sending swaps. Everyone here is so into them. It's better than Xmas ans birthdays when so often no one gets excited except me and the toddlers!LOL I hate giving gift certificates and items from a list that specify every detail. That's not gift giving! I opted out of the family name drawing after the year my brother told me just to send him the money and he'd order the wine glasses that were the only thing my niece-in-law (DNIL?) wanted. I'm sure they were at least $50 a stem so he didn't want to have her get only one from me. (I never pay attention to the limit if I find something great but don't give me an order!)

After I asked if you took it I thought I remembered you posting it before. It's a neat picture, but I agree that cropping and playing with it makes it much more "art" like. I'm going to check out Winkflash for printing some of my photography since I plan one making a couple gallery walls showcasing my folks and my photography and a family photo wall too.

Well I have no shame I guess. If I see a treasure I have no problem stopping, getting out of the car and grabbing it. I don't care who sees me. If there is someone there I just say Hi, how ya doing, I really like this, blah, blah, blah, see ya and hit the road again. I've found some great garden chairs and other stuff that way. A few folks have even helped me load whatever it is into my car!!!!

Lucky you!! I went to some TS over the weekend and they had nothing. I hit 4 and gave up!!! Was looking for glass for my bird feeders.

Nona, the smallest big butterfly was $11 I think. I picked up a pretty big one first, and it was $14. Then I saw a really huge one but didn't check price. Probably $19-20.
My big ol' skinny rooster was $15. His body is PURPLE and white, LOL, so you can understand why he was calling to me to take him home. I may have to get a butterfly next time tho, they are really cool.

I thought all Goodwills did a half off day. Ours here do them twice a month I think. Tues is seniors day, so I often go then too.

Hope my 'new' camera comes fast, I feel like I'm missing an apendage without one. LOL. Honestly, my camera is always within reach! Mostly cause dogs and cats make such great photo ops. Grandkids aren't bad either, LOL.

Sounds like you had a really productive shopping day! But egads woman, did you have to break the camera!?!? I was all excited reading your post because I was expecting to see a picture of all your treasures and then bupkus! I'm as upset as you are about the camera. lol! That's why I love my cell phone. It takes great pictures too. Can't wait until you get the new camera and we can see what you do with all your great purchases!

And did I read butterflies? I am started to accumulate a collection of metal ones. So far I only have three. Too bad there isn't a Ross near me!

Our Goodwills are 'special'(HA,HA) They are not affiliated with the regular Goodwills. They are 'Easter Seals Goodwills'. We have 2 stores here.
They told me that when I brought a flyer from Indiana that was about a special sale.
Their prices here are never as low as those in Indiana either, altho I do get a few good buys.

Karen, so sorry about the camera accident--hope the replacement will work out okay for you. Bummer!

So how much off on your Senior days at GW? Here, we get senior discount of 10% any day as long as you remember to ask for it.

Can't wait to see what you create with your new buys.

PM! I trust no pictures 'cause it's YOU! LOL Seriously though, I'm sorry about your camera. I'm like you... it's attached to the hip all the time. How we'd love to see those butterflys! You got so many great things! My imagination is spinning until we can see some pics!
