Green Arrow was just an example of a wrinkle seeded pea That I had handy. All of them both shelling and snap will have a similar appearance. If they were difficult to open then I would lean toward a snap pea. They have fleshy pods which when dried don't open as easily as the tougher stringy pods of a shelling pea. There are over 300 named varieties of English pea and over 40 varieties of snap pea. However the number that will get 4 ft tall is pretty limited. You can probably make a decent guess after you grow them out.

It depends on a lot of factors. First, type of pepper. Some ripen really quick some not so much. second, you have to determine a starting point. Do you start counting days the day you sow the seed, the day they sprout, the day you see the first bloom, the day you see a pod, etc.... Third, it depends on growing conditions. A jalapeno growing in a very cool climate might take a week or two or three longer than one grown down south. Moisture, soil, nutrients, etc... all have an impact. By the way, those peppers (Hot Hungarian Wax) that I posted above are not ripe. Peppers do not have to be ripe to harvest and enjoy them. Many are commonly harvested long before they get ripe such as the Jalapeno or the Hot Hungarian Wax pepper above. Both of those peppers will grow to full size and just sit there on the plant for weeks longer until they finally turn red. So, they typically get harvested earlier so the plant can get started on putting out another round of peppers. Typically though, peppers are sweeter, better tasting and usually hotter after they fully ripen though. But the short answer to your question might be this. Using HHW peppers, I find it is about 6 weeks from the time the pepper is formed to when it gets fully ripe.

The wider planks look to be pine or fir? Maybe??? The bedroom 'narrow plank' could be white oak or maple. Hard to say without seeing the grain. If you want a colour OTHER than yellow = water based polyurethane. The yellow comes from oil based finishes. It also comes from oil MODIFIED finishes. The way to get away from yellow/orange = stick with water based finishes that DO NOT say, 'enhances' the look of wood tones.
