totem water fountain
Comments (2)I do not remember seeing one at all. Of course that does not mean they are not out there. I think anything you have a hole up the middle you can put a hose up and let it spill over. You will have to use things that are open top and bottom or drill holes thru. But the main problem is...sometimes the water or condensation gets into the different areas where you use the silicone in normal totems. You may have to use a different glue in order to prevent the water leaking back into the inside and filling it up. good luck...sounds like a great thing to have water running over the glass...will glisten a lot....See MoreNeed directions for a running water faucet/fountain
Comments (21)I made a fountain but I am having trouble with water flow because of the end of the spigot. It is larger than 1/2 inch tubing and then inside the spigot it narrows down to a much smaller hole. I had to put a dowel in that smaller hole and then attach tubing to that. The spigot end is so shallow the holes were showing so I had to buy an extender for the spigot. I hope someone understand all this. Jean, does the epoxy putty help the tube fit in the spigot and I was confused by the screening you mentioned. How is that used? Do I need to shop for another spigot. This one was just bought in Lowes. Thanks for any help. Donna...See MoreCracked polyresin fountain leak...(pics)
Comments (9)And more on the epoxy front... I have successfully used QuikSteel epoxy putty (found in the automotive section of Walmart and other places). It bonds to wet or dry surfaces and will even set up underwater. I used it to fix a sizable crack (1/2" wide and 3 feet long) underwater. It's a little messy. You kneed the dark grey putty together until it's all the same color and a little warm. Then you cram it into the crack. As with all repairs, be sure the crack is as clear as possible. Wirebrush it to rough it up, even undercut the crack a little if you can. If you can get it to bond well, you should be all set. A section of my crack didn't bond well (algae in it, I think) and the putty just peeled off. But the part that did stick, that was the most important, stuck very well! I've also used it to fix some rust spots around the windshield of my old convertible. BasilB...See Morewater fountains
Comments (8)I installed a fountain in my back garden 2 years ago. When I was planning it, I talked to another gardener who was into water gardening about pumps & he wasn't very big on solar pumps because they just didn't have the pumping power (maybe they have improved since then) so I ran electricity out to my pond. I don't remember the gph of my pump but what you should do is figure out high high you are going to pump your water. Your tank is 2 ft deep & if your fountain outlet is 2' ft above the water line of you tank, you will need a pump that can lift the water 4 ft (more if you want to spray the water up into the air). When I talked to the sales person at the garden center, the distance you were going to lift the water was the fact he wanted to know for selecting the pump size & he had a chart he referred to that he used to figure the pump size for my pond. Below is a pic of my fountain:...See MorePKponder TX Z7B
