My New Nautical Chair

Hi. I've been lurking for about five years or so...and just in the last few months made an acct. This is my first pic post...so i hope it goes okay.

I had an old beige Adirondack chair that was like five or six yrs old. (sorry no before pics:( ) On my back deck I put out things that look "sea-ish" or sorta nautical. So, I sprayed it with plastic spray paint and added this quote.

Yes, I did read the review, but the objections seemed to me easy to remedy. The same lantern in another metal received a good review. I can't post photos tonight as have a new camera, and paperwork is due for work tomorrow.

Do new table and chairs fit in my space?

The style and color is perfect. But, next to the large overstuffed arm chair, your new table and chairs look like dollhouse furniture, or make me feel a bit like I'm in Alice in Wonderland. Do you use the French doors? Do you use the upholstered bench next to the cabinets? If the answer is no to both of those, then I would remove the bench, remove the basket and planter on the floor and get a larger size table for that space. I'd also take the new rug out. It is really pretty, but I think without the rug and those other items your space could take a table that isn't so dwarfed looking.

I have seen it in person. It isnt overly bright. However the cushions are not cheap and an investment that I am sure you would like to last several seasons. If you choose a color like that you are tied into it until you part with the cushions. By doing something more neutral, black, navy, black and white stripe, navy and white stripe, natural etc. it allows you to "change it up" from season to season with accents in the form of pillows etc. I find each spring when its time to bring out the outdoor pieces again I want something new and fresh. Replacing accent pieces is affordable and fun to do. Replacing investment pieces like cushions/cushion covers isn't doable for most of us on a seasonal basis. You could easily add that color as your accent with navy or black or natural. Next season you may want hot pink or yellow or red or green which all would be able to be added with navy black or neutral too.

Thank you so much for all the kind comments! Leveta...no I don't live in KY, kylslil1 is actually a name given to me by my husband. It should read Kyle's Little One. When i first met my husband I was exactly half his weight and a foot shorter. So, my husband called me his little one. Kinda stuck.:)

Great job! The dots along the back almost looked like studs. Gives it a classy look and is a great contrast against the dark blue. What a great quote too! I would never think to use a quote on something in the garden but it makes so much sense.

Was that a plastic Andirondack chair? If so, that sure a great idea for sprucing it up and adding more life to it!

that is very cool! Last week I think, I saw a link from the Crafty Chica website where a company is sending out Adirondak (is that right?) chairs for different artists to 'redo' - this one lady put a wedding ring quilt motif on hers and it was pretty neat. I really like yours, I've never been much of a fan of the plastic chairs, but then again, I never thought of changing them in any way - thank you for opening me to other possibilities....
I just love this forum!!! Everyone's creativity and willingness to share ideas and brainstorm, its just wonderful!!
