New Bud Platinum...It's the bottle...!!!

I don't post here much but I thought you guys would appreciate the new beer I picked-up..

Comes in a GREAT blue bottle.The label comes off but I've got to work on the glue.

I've never made a bottle tree and love the ones I've seen here.

Maybe one will be in my future.

Better start drinking...:)

Well, for someone who doesn't post here much you sure knew where to come to share your great find! *grin* Sooo...I'm thinkin you should prolly be postin here more often:) Thanks for the tip, anyway, and here's hopin your next awesome discovery scoops us all!

Pic of typical roses with thrips. I still think yours might have some thrips, but they have something else eatting them up and the leaves. No one is commenting on the bites in the leaves. The thrips damage is cosmetic on the petals of the roses. The rose I have, Moonstone, that the leaves looked like yours had several pests, one was thips when it bloomed. It also had rose slugs and sawflies. Other than that I couldn't find any other pest on it to account for the leaves looking like this. If your roses are young and this Bayer you got is the soil drench I'd look up the thread Redsox created and see her pics of how her young roses burned using it. I believe it killed the pests but it burned the roses. I think the foliar app is a safer app than the soil on young roses. If you do use it, make sure you water deeply first. One other thing that maybe totally unrelated and probably is, how early in the am do you water? The water needs to be evaporated off the roses by the time the sun is hot enough to burn the roses or the blooms can sunburn. I noticed the water on the leaves and you asked that.

Well it's finally finished. Dh is an ale drinker, but he discovered Bud's new platinum brew in blue bottles isn't bad, so he contributed quite a few. Sandi, I bought a couple Ty Nant bottles of water. The labels on the Saratoga Springs were engraved on the bottle. I wanted removable labels. Thanks again to everyone for the help!

Thank you so much for answering! I am glad they caught, as I feel bad for my mom's rose... maybe her cuttings will have a better life...my mom doesn't care for it, but on the other hand does not let me dig it out and take it... she donated her whole yard to some bushes of rasberry, that took over everything.... good to eat, but not worth ruining a whole yard for the sake of it ( my opinion, not hers...) Sorry, I don't know what a cold frame is.... I saw something called MiniGreenHouse at Home Depot, it's basically a shelf unit, dressed in a see-through plastic bag with zippers, costs $29 so not that expensive... But I can't imagine anything surviving outside in that thing, during our winters... Please advise, if you think that's useful! I don't want to put the cuttings in the ground, as we might be moving next spring.... Btw, the soil I used already has some very light fertilizer in it ( 0.2-0.3-0.2) The bottles have been off for 48 hours now and still no wilting! The cuttings are in South Window which has a moskito net, so I guess that's dampled shade... it's my brightest window though

Oh my gosh, that is a beautiful window. Almost makes me want a kiln to flatten bottles in, but I don't have the talent to put them together with other glass. I love it tho, thanks for showing. There's a person around my area who sells flattened gray goose vodka and other interesting bottles to use as appetizer plates. I passed up 3 of those blue beer bottles that were sitting on the curb a while back. I was in a hurry, then I regretted it ever since. such a nice size. Kathy

The glue will come off with 'goo gone', and pieces of paper towel.

No need to feel silly, forboystoo. Always exciting to see someone make a new-to-them discovery and join in the fun! Sharing your great find here was like a gift...and as with any gift, it's the thought that counts:) It was well received.

I'm only just now starting my bottle tree BECAUSE dh nixed the idea yrs ago (thought it was tacky - can you imagine?!) Anyhoo, got my new neighbor to thank...she moved in & promptly planted a blue bottle tree front & center. Gotta love her. Hubs thinks it looks cool and actually went out & bought the materials to plant mine. He still has no idea I have a couple dozen blue BP bottles hidden in my junk stash & more on the way. Haha...boy is he gonna be surprised when my tree fills out overnight!

Was driving through the countryside the other day with my dh and kids and spotted a blue bottle aside the road. My daughter hopped out and grabbed it for me. Was cracking up when she got back and I saw it was a beer bottle like this one. I had her put it in the back of the car and was sure to not speed home LOL. Was THRILLED to find a blue bottle in the middle of nowhere LOL
