Guest Picks: Spring Green
The brights buds of spring are inspiring everything from bookshelves to dish racks
In my little corner of the world, spring is a magical time. It's green grass, orange blossoms perfuming the air, spring training, and hours of jumping rope and soccer in the backyard. Naturally, I gravitate to the color green this time of year. Here are some of my favorite spring green picks for indoors and out. — Elaina from Fun Finds for Mom
Leafkeepers Cable Ties
These Leafkeepers actually make me want to display my bunched-up cable ties. That's saying something.
Turf, Front-Facing Bookshelf
This grassy bookshelf would be perfect in a kids' bedroom. I'd also like it in my green-accented kitchen, mounted on the wall and holding a few cookbooks.
Orange Crate Label
In Arizona, spring means citrus. I framed this original crate label from the '40s in a white frame in my kitchen, next to a similar lemon label. They look so fresh and cheery!
Grass, Countertop Drying Rack
I bought this "grass" drying rack from Boon after reading about it on one of my favorite blogs, Chez Larsson. It makes me happy every time I pop a thermos on it to dry.
Green Toy Bin
Probably the coolest toy box ever — a green Tolix Kids metal bin on wheels! This would also be perfect for corralling all of our board games.
Green Lawn Children's Vinyl Decal Wall Sticker by Elmo Studio
If I ever put decals on the wall, these would be a contender. They are subtle, yet whimsical.
Vintage 1970s Spring Green Caning Print by Wary Meyers
Grab these vintage spring green '70s pillows before they're gone! The caning design reminds me of my childhood.
Kardemumma Plant Pot
A new houseplant is an easy way to add a shot of spring green. My dad bought me a Zamefolia plant, which seems to be impossible to kill. It lives happily inside the white pot on the left.
Big Happy Family
A magnetic urban vertical garden is perfect if you have limited counter space — or just want cool living wall art!
Food Map Container
I've loved these white tub herb planters on wheels since I first saw them at True Food (Dr. Andrew Weil's restaurant in Phoenix).
Porcelain Egg Planters Wheat Grass Kit Egg Sprouts by Eco Elements
Growing grass from seed is a fun spring activity to do with the kids. Set out a spray bottle of water and let them mist the planted seeds. My dad (gardener extraordinaire) actually planted 100 tiny pots of grass seed and grew them for me to use as place settings at my spring wedding.
Custom Painted Wooden Birdhouses by Sophias Rosie Room
I drove by a house with a huge tree in the front yard that was absolutely dripping with birdhouses. What better way to welcome spring than providing colorful birdie real estate?
Carrie Bicycle Basket, Green
My future white beach cruiser will look smashing wearing this fun and fancy bicycle basket.
Deluxe Garden Hose Cart
I dig the color of this green powder-coated steel hose cart. I really need to set it up with our tangled mess of a hose. I know it would be love at first sight.
House Pet, Frog Carpet Tile
This grassy green Frog FLOR tile can be used as indoor carpet or an outdoor rug.
Umbra Grassy Plastic Organizer, Green
If you like the Boon grass drying rack, I'm sure you'll love this Umbra toothbrush holder.
Sam Buffet Lamp
This spiky floral lamp is handmade by artisans in Mexico by Stray Dog Designs, a company that gives a portion of the proceeds to organizations who do good things for hungry and homeless people, stray dogs and cats.
Farmer’s Market Basket, Small Square
I've long admired these colorful ceramic berry baskets from Anthropologie. Time to get to the mall and pick one up!
Color-Blocked Balloon Cutting Board
This handmade cutting board, complete with leather handle, is a work of art.
