Oops, 5000K is not a brand, but a color temperature. Let's start over. Take a look at some color temperature information at other web sites. Pictures can help. Incandescent are really quite yellow and have a color temp between 2700 and 3300K. Horizon daylight is about 5000K and overcast skylight is about 6500K. They look quite blue when you put them next to a more common fluorescent that falls between incandescent and daylight. If you are doing things that require good color judgement in there, you want a high CRI. You can look at it as a measure of the richness of the color spectrum. CRI is what, among other things, allows you to easily tell the difference between black and blue socks, or tell what your makeup will look like. Incandescent and daylight have high CRI. Other technologies struggle to reach that standard. You often have to spend more to get a good CRI out of fluorescent and LED lights. Look at a little more information and maybe go to see a display at a store. Above all, go with what you like and don't worry about what other peoples' rules. It is your house.

Treat it like any other tropical, light regular feeding. Do keep bumping it up in pot size and make sure it has plenty of water in warm weather (but not staying wet). Likes bright light but full sun will burn the leaves. Takes about 5 years to reach blooming and fruiting size. By then you'll want them in at least 30 gallon bins or pots. Blooms are white and fragrant like Jasmine. ;) Mine go outside from spring to autumn on my back deck. They /can/ reach as much as 8 to 12 feet tall but I keep mine trimmed easily at around 5 to 6 foot tall which is typical to keep the beans easy to reach. They tend to flower around June i the hot rainy season, then produce fruit which ripens in late winter through spring. Each coffee 'cherry' holds 2 to 3 beans. Here's a shot of mine growing on my back deck, near right side. I should start some new seedlings for our hoped for greenhouse later. You can get about 1 to 1.5 lbs of beans per mature tree depending on which variety you have. Hmm, I seem to have hijacked the thread. Pardon.

Hi all. I have been away for a while but I’m back with a paint dilemma and I really enjoy painting but not so much RE-PAINTING. Short backstory – built in 2013 and now we are moving on to finishing the basement with daylight windows. When we painted the main house there are 7 different paint colors and in all rooms but 2 my trim looks white. I know what I don’t want is creamy looking trim but I don’t know how to narrow down my paint choices to achieve that and I am not sure what exactly is making them creamy? The interesting thing is the 2 rooms that go creamy on me both have larger windows on the EAST and smaller windows on the NORTH. They also both have a bluish/greenish paint. I can’t tell if it’s the blue paint that pulls the cream out or if it’s the natural light that I should be concerned about or both? Any words of wisdom there? I am not sure where to focus my paint selections to keep my trim white! Details on the creamy looking trim rooms: My bedroom is SW Quietude and the trim is super creamy in there. My sons bedroom is more of a truer bolder blue but on the wall it casted a purple undertone (shhh-I wasn’t repainting at that point my hand was tired from painting the whole house) and the trim is definitely more creamy. We also do live in the woods so there is plenty of green out there to bounce around but right now plenty of white with all of this snow. Side note – I have BM Revere Pewter in my closet (window on the WEST) and master bath (window on the NORTH) and I like it but it’s not at all a gray it’s definitely more of a tanish color in there but it looks fine and trim is white. I struggle between just repeating the colors upstairs that I know look fine and branching out and doing something new because it’s a clean slate and it’s kind of fun if you don’t screw it up! We have an exercise room that has a window on the NORTH and a bathroom with no window at all so zero natural light. These 2 rooms both have me nervous. Any suggestions? An actul to scale floor plan those skewed pictures do nothing for me.You can do pixeleated glass doors for privacy but allow light to come through I have them on all my doors in a long hallway including bathroom. An ADA bathoom can never be tiny so we need the measurements for this space you are designing to make sure what you are planning is doable. If you have an interior designer this should be discussed with them since I feel there are some issues that need to be addressed before you go any further and always a bad idea to demo befor you have a plan.
