Everbearing Chandler Strawberries?

I recently purchased some strawberries supposedly labeled "chandler," with a scape of berries from each plant. All the ones at the nursery had berries too.

Strangely this is a junebearing strawberry right? A few websites state that it's an everbearing, which confuses me more. The nursery also had sequoia strawberries, but those were junebearing (some might say everbearing)too, with no fruit to speak of. In any case, should I snip the flowers off or not? I doubt any cold weather would damage anything (no frost here).

Anyone care to explain this? Could be the zone I'm in but...

It is true that Chandler is a short day or june bearing strawberry in much of the country. In the coastal regions of California where the winters are warm and the plants do not get enough winter chill, they will act as day neutral or everbearing strawberries. Any everbearing strawberries for the South?

This copied from another Forum and posted by a plant wholesale supplier. The commercial growers plant 'Chandler' typically, which produces a heavy crop over a short spring time period. If you want to make jams, etc., then this is a good choice. 'Everbearing' is good for a longer crop period in smaller amounts. Nice to plant in hanging baskets and you would like fruit for spring to fall. Never plant strawberries in red clay as they are very disease prone. Are they from seed?day 23 doesn't seem very far along. Where are you located? To get good fruit sets I pinched the blooms off for the first year or two. Please post some pictures if you can.. on mature plants, depending where they're being grown. In the greenhouse they start setting fruit in April.
