Cait, luckily I tend to do the GE a bit thicker than I should, so it takes longer to cure. I put stuff outside after 24 hrs, but sometimes for another day I can make a piece come loose with pressure. Particular the long skinny pieces. But normally, I just use a razor blade and run it around the rim of a piece and loosen the glue. They come apart easy then. I put the tall cobalt one out back today in my Blue Garden where the bottle tree and other pieces are. When I had to move stuff and rearrange after the house painting, I decided to get all my cobalt and blue together in one area. The little mini totem with the crystal swan and the tall green 'n crystal totem are joining others in my brick planter along the back patio. I'll try and get a photo of them together. In the future, I know I can't resist cobalt glass and luckily I don't find it that often. These are pieces I've collected the last couple of years. I'm still on the hunt for a red vase to finish a special totem. And I might make another 'pottery' one like my teapot totem and matching birdbath. I sure like the colorfulness. But I am telling myself to only buy what I am going to USE AT THE TIME and stop buying every single piece of glass that makes me go "ahh, that might work on something". My counter is looking a lot less cluttered now. Still a work in progress tho tho. More lead crystal and cobalt to use. I can't gift totems around here. Not a soul I know would take them. Only you guys appreciate them. Cait, if you want to come pick up the hummingbird one, its yours. I could really enjoy having you in Phx instead of OZ. Moccasin, thank you so much for your profuse compliments. The "bones" of my gardens are perennials, filled out by various annuals each year. I mix in some Plant-tone and Osmacote when I prepare the soil before any plants have emerged. I stoop over and pull out any weeds that I see, as my plots are small enough to do that. It's very funny that you should mention smiles and hand waves from neighbors. I live down the street from one of the major city colleges. Not only do any and all neighbors nod and smile when they see me out watering my gardens (well, THAT'S not necessary tonight, major rainstorm going on right now and a floodwatch), but a great deal of the passing students compliment me as well. That makes me feel like I'm doing a community service. I was just thinking as I walked out this morning that since I started my elaborate gardens, more and more of the neighbors on my side of the street have taken the plunge. I am definitely seeing more garden plots being planted, both in front of the Obligatory Bushes, and in the soil squares located in the courtyards (some buildings are in courtyards here, some merely line the street like mine). I cannot say whether more people are gardening because they saw my gardens and got inspired, or if it was a case of convergent thinking. But my gardens do seem to be an epicenter, outward from which I see the newly planted gardens (even if it's just a row of petunias or such) up this year. If so, hurray! We all need more flowery beauty and the peace it brings in our lives. Gesila, the only heuchies I've had so far were Marmalade and Georgia Peach. As you can see, Marmalade is doing fabulously. The original Georgia Peach specimen wasn't the best one, it was the last one the local nursery had. This may well have contributed to its not making it through the winter. The nursery told me that since my new GP in its 12" pot is in a sheltered location, in the lee of the Obligatory Bushes, a bit of sheltering bubble wrap or such should be sufficient to get it through winters. I am thrilled that all my new baby heuchies are really growing apace, faster than my small hostas. I hope the baby heuchies continue in their robust health!! Maybe with Garden Cat watching over them, they will. Garden Cat's origin came from my spotting this adorable wire cat face on the 75% off table with other Halloween stuff. Finding just the right pot as a backdrop was quite a bit harder. I think I went to 4 stores/nurseries before luck drew my eye to the perfect white pot. All right, it wasn't on sale, but I bought it anyway because it was perfect for my Garden Cat.

Jackie is a really nice bloom, but you'll need heat to drive the shape. Elsie bloomed late for me, so I put it in the GH to finish. from my notes... Elsie 3" rounded flowers of dark pink with lighter pink to white area. Petals round, heavily overlapping. Leaves: beautiful emerald green, broad oval. Compact growth habit. During development we called it the âÂÂpainted pinkâÂÂ, as when flowers are at their pink it looks like the colors were painted on. 3-4â flowers in good clusters. Excellent form and habit. Growth habit: semi-compact Scent: medium floral, Nice thick substance, fat buds and sturdy inflo stems. Stunning pink and white swirl strong sweet fragrance. Seedling of Penang Peach produces thick clusters of rounded flowers of dark pink, lighter pink and white, with a somewhat swirling effect. The tree is thick-branched, yet compact like her seed parent. The leaves even have the little ''hook' on the tip like Penang Peach. The fragrance is nicely sweet. This beauty was hybridized in Thailand and released in 2007. Good mixed of pink on the flowers, orange center, when the buds start to open, the color very intense pink then turn into nice pink when fully open, pink band on the back of petals. Love the strong bands of red and pink in the petals. Recommended. 3" Dark pink with lighter pink and white areas. Floral scent and heavy strong bloomer. Very thick leaves. A new compact variety of 3" overlapped flowers of red, dark pink and white. Penang Peach seedling. Very strong sweet fruity perfume. Non stop bloomer..super nice colors. Fairly mild floral scent. Retains strong pink color after picking. good growth habit, where as Daisy is not so compact and will get tips that seal over. About 3", good bloomer on shorter tips. Jackie JJ: slow-growing and compact in nature, with very thick wood, and stunning, temple-shaped flowers that will vary in shape and even color with the season. Even its foliage is highly unique; wavy and corrugated. The flower (up to 4") is sort of a chameleon, varies in shape and color intensity by the season, but there's no mistaking the dense, wavy foliage. A slow grower with thick wood - this is one of a kind. Growth habit:: compact Scent:: light floral, fruity Peach scent..not super strong..but nice. Changes from one color to other color, start out with peachy blush on white petal then turn into yellow so you get multi-color in one bundle of flowers, nice textures, peachy red on the back of the petals. very heavy bloomer. Heat lover. one the the thickest branches I've seen ..blooms in nice big clusters and gets this beautiful pagoda shape blooms. I found a small fish cup, so my copycat totem is smaller. Just finished putting it together last night, guess I need to wait a day or so to put it out - doesn't the geII have to cure or something? Wish my digital wasn't broken - actually, it isn't broken, but our computer is so old and so full we can't download any pictures - we have ordered a new one. guess then we will find out for sure if the camera works or not.
