Sickly indoor Yucca, but why?

I bought a Yucca for my living room in April, it looked great until about August, and then all of a sudden the leaves started turning brown and drooping. Was I overwatering, underwatering, I don't know. I looked online for answers but got confilcting results. This is a fairly tall plant, and I want it to look great again.

I've dusted the leaves so they could absorb more sun, played with the lighting so its not directly in the hot sun, I've checked the soil before watering to not overwater it. I've even repotted. All of this and no change. When I cut back some dried leaves I did see some new shoots, but at the same time I'm getting more dried leaves.

Any help for this novice gardener is appreciated!
