Hey to all! I found you by accident when looking for Tipsy Pot Ideas! For the last Three years I have been creating and Selling Garden Chairs (Re purposing old chairs. I have been checking out all of the good ideas from past and present posts, I am driving my hubby crazy! He can't believe I am planting Junk..(as he puts it). I will post some pics in the coming days of my garden ideas so far. I have also gotten hooked on Bottle Bugs.....I have made 10 inthe last 5 days...whew! My Grand Daughter loves them! Look out Thrift Stores and Yard Sales...Here I come!!! LOL I hope to spend much time here and also hope to give and get many more ideas!

ok, I messed up. I tend to scan quickly when I am excited about a project. So you said vertical blinds and the ones I saved were the regular vinyl blinds. I got out 4 slats and washed them (in shed) and got busy with the directions in hand. First one I bent in half broke. So the next one I did not crease but just fold...got to the points and they broke. No telling how old they were when I did a curb find but I guess they were not a good choice, lol. So I took some fun foam I have and using all white, got confused. So I found a tan sheet and did get a flat star done. So I will try with paper and practice because I am gona find some verticals and make some. Maybe I can find some that are on sale racks also. Maybe some where the hangers are damaged cause I will not need them. I do believe the regular vinyl blinds would work if newer and could find some of these on sale rack. Oh, it is the top and bottom of the regular vinyl blinds that I am gona use for hanging flags or banners outside this summer.

Thanks to all for the kind words! I just love the spot, which is just a small area of the big garden picture. I have lots of junk art around the yard. That old sink weighs a ton! It was all my DH and I could do to load it, and then lift it into the base when we got it built. It is there to stay! He is so good at humoring me though - bless his heart. I hardly ever hear "what are you going to do with THAT thing" anymore. He just says, "ok lets load it up". He always loves the finished projects, and he show the gardens off with a lot of pride. The grate hanging on the front of the sink as well as the old wood stove door sitting on the ground in front are old stove parts I have been hauling around for quite a while, and finally decided they belonged right there. akup_a - The brown ring under the flag is a bird feeder. It has a wire mesh base in it for drainage. I picked it up at the local arts & crafts show this past summer. kat4kittens2002 - I picked that skull up at a yard sale for 50 cents! I couldn't believe the price! I also couldn't believe that it had sat there all day without someone buying it! Of course I live in a ranching community, and I guess the locals here don't view them as art - just dead cows! The fence in the background is also barnwood. A friend had a barn he was taking out, and told us we could have all the wood we wanted if we'd just take it down. We spent days working on it, but the wood was beautiful and we came up with more than enough to build a 6 foot fence about 40 foot long. It is a beauty, and looks WAY better than the new one we put across the back of our place! We have lots of smaller barn wood pieces left that are also gradually working their way into the yard art. I do not throw out ANYTHING!! I collect the old enamelware pots and pans, and have a whole collection of them hanging on the back wall of the shed. It looks really nice, but I did not take a picture of the finished work last summer. Will have to get one posted as soon as the snow melts down enough to get back there again! There was another old sink like this one, still laying in the field at our friends place. He is in his 80's, and has lived there all his life. These sinks were removed from the old house over the years and replaced with updated versions. Then just dumped out in the junk pile. He thinks I am funny because everytime we go visit him, I haul home some more junk. He says I can "clean up" around there all I want - saves him from having to do it! adina72 - I may have to get the other sink on my next visit. I think the birds would love the idea of a nice big bath somewhere out there. I have smaller round ones, but they are the newer cast iron ones sold at garden shops, and don't fit into the big picture very well. So thanks for that idea! I spend a lot of time out there in the summer, and really love the serenity. I will see what else I can find in my pictures to post - thanks again for all the great comments, and new ideas! Sherril

Well I really have to say I'm impressed. Everyone here has been so encouraging, welcoming and positive. Thank you for so many good thoughts! Reading your posts this week has been great fun and I've enjoyed hearing what everyone had to say. On the topic of further projects (besides finishing my flower bed) we bought a wonderful old small twin headboard from the neighbors yard sale last weekend for $20. Normally that is more than I would pay but the headboard is great and we learned recently the neighbors are having some financial challenges so we were able to help in a very small way. Wow Jeanne...things ARE looking good in your "shed" garden! Your tipsy buckets look so good...I need to move mine, they are getting too much shade where they are. LOVE the windmill and the million bells is HUGE and GORGEOUS! So many cool accessories..the galvanized containers and the wheel with the zinnias in it are great. What is the tall plant growing right next to your shed...the one with big leaves and tall stalks? Looks really cool! TFS~

Welcome! and Wow! You definately fit right in here....and you are already inspiring me! I have been looking for an idea for a fence/railing for the patio area in front of my studio. This is perfect...and I already have almost enough bed parts to make it. Thank you for sharing this idea. I hope you will continue to share with us.

I am feeling so welcome! Thanks to all! I love my fence too! so much that I am planing a rose garden on the other side completely fenced in by the Headboards and footboards. This Pic is from last year, won't have the rose garden done until next year lotsa ideas brewing there. To many projects going right now! We just put a Porch across the front of our house, for 50 years there has been a 4' x 4' stoop, now there is an 8' x 48' Porch. This picture is just after we finished the concrete. I am having a blast with planting this year plenty of space to do it. I am so happy to have folks to share with!

OH MY WOW!!!! You have excellent display insite. Very cool look. The last time I saw a cool fence like that it was in Salado TX and they were old bikes, painted white, and lined up and adjoined to make a fence.

There is a fence of green bikes in a Georgetown TX area in front of a gift/antique shop.

Thanks, Maggie, I love it too! This is actually my second fence. Be sure to check my page and go to my Blog to see the first. I am making more plans for it, I like to change things every year, usually add new and move the old and use it another way or another place. I am so glad to meet everyone here. I am now looking for glass to make a totem, I may even try some bowling ball lady bugs....You all have great imaginations!!!

Wow, thanks for the great ideas, I have 3 headboards, one the bed I slept in growing up. Now I know just how to display them. Gotta collect a few more. I really love the arbor, gonna do it too.

Just wanted to let you know that your headboard fence has inspired a new garden bed for me. I have three headboards, need 7 more. I am making a corner fence with dayliles planted all along the inside, I will probably fill in with low growing annuals. It is going to be to add privacy to a sitting area for me to watch the butterflies and hummers from. Thanks for the great idea.
