Madam Ming's Pagoda of The Full Moon

Okay, okay, I know your getting tired of these pagodas so this is the last one - I promise

I know I said I was going to take a break but, well things just sort of happened while I was picking up the left-overs and I ended up with the yet another pagoda. Fortunately the garden is big enough to take "one" more. Since I need some color in a small corner of the garden I added a little paint to this piece. It is a little smaller at only 32" above the bricks.

Don't stop on our account, LOL. You know we'd never get tired of your creations. I guess this one will have to be my favorite now. You said the magic word...MOON. I love it. You actually make it difficult to pick favorites, all are really neat.
Does your DW know you have a huge fan club? We sure think

Robert, I love ALL your pagodas!! It's so cool that they are all different and have such lovely names! I have to tell you, I've been eye-balling my Hubby's free weights...

"Believe me, I have planned trips to pass by certain stores that I have wanted to visit in the past. I think however with Donahues I will settle for ordering the quart sized plants and growing them out myself." Hey, Miguel, a visit to MN in the early summer/mid summer is great, warm temps during the days, cooling off in the evenings. After living in St. Louis for 8 years I moved back to MN and was frequently heard to say "What a beautiful evening" that first year back. We also have a wonderful arboretum here. So, come on up! I miss the early springs of St. Louis as it doesn't really get springy and beautiful in MN until May. But, oh, those cool summer nights almost make up for the late spring. Hi Amazin , sorry I'm new at this web stuff ( mostly just a lurker) and couldn't find were I wrote to you the 1st time ... me feel so dumb with this puter stuff... but yes I have 9 begonias and 6 are from Logee's, some are named and other are ( pass a along's ) ..... Named ones= Begonia " Richardsiana" B." Snow Capped " B. "Tea Rose" B. "Hot Tamale" B. "Good and Plenty " B, "Tiny Gem " B. " Silver Queen " The Richardsiana has in pass week took a big flop , and so not sure whats up with it , taken it back into house , hope it was just heat stroking from 100 + daze we have been in for pass couple of weeks here in nastyville , so not sure about it. Two other's unknown named ones but pretty just the same and last one I think mite be B. " Sophia Cecile " not sure. I see you have " My Special Angel " have been looking at it in the catalogs . sorry I'm so long winded.... but sure there must be something in your long list that we can work with . P.s. I wont make it to any plant swap so..... not sure how we would do this if we've a mind to ???? But thanks for your time and effort if thats the only way .

Robert, I love all of them! Very creative and look like expensive sculptures! Wishing my MIL hadn't tossed those weights into the trash last year! Still makes me cringe. I just knew I could have used them for something. No telling what else she tossed when she cleaned her basement.

Oh, Sheri, I can't imagine 'Fly-Fornication' being called anything but 'Fly'? And the Puritans are often said to have no sense of humor! Loved the link and will save it in my favorites. Thanks. I have a friend who in the 1970s named her sons Ashley and Shannon. (Ashley from Ashley Wilkes in GWTW and Shannon from I don't know where.) She had no idea at the time that those names were trending to the feminine. The boys were teased for having 'girly' names and both, as soon as they could, adopted the more masculine diminutives: Ash and Shay. I have known a male Jocelyn, a Beverley, an Evelyn, and a couple of Marions who found their names co-opted for females only. It left the poor guys embarrassed. They call themselves Jos, Biv, Lyn, Mike and Bud. Girls, on the other hand, who are given what once were considered masculine names have an easier time. Half the time I can't tell by their names what the gender of the bearer is. I was perplexed when Madison began to be used for girls. To me the /son/ part indicated a male but apparently that's no longer a good indicator. I found out that Madison for girls became popular after a mermaid played by Daryl Hannah in the film 'Splash' gave herself the name from a street sign that said Madison Avenue or some such. Come to think of it, I always thought of the name Daryl as being masculine. Are most Daryls these days female? I haven't met a male Allison in a long time. The name Caitlyn is very popular in the US, usually pronounced and sometimes spelt Kate Lynn. I was corrected by an Irish acquaintance when I mistakenly pronounced her daughter Caitlyn's name the American way. She informed me that it is Kat-leen (or as Americans would spell it, Kathleen, and say it using the /th/ thorn sound). I sometimes find it amusing when people have a name from a certain ethnicity that they obviously aren't. There's absolutely nothing wrong with mixing ethnic names, but I'm often confused by it and wonder how on earth, say, Carlos Llewellyn Swiderski got his name?

robert, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing your other creations, but this one is beautiful. What a lovely name.
Wish I could see it little closer, do you have a close up photo? What materials did you use? I love how the pagoda portion has space between it and the moon is lovely.

Now, I really don't know which one is my favorite!! I am in awe and jealous at the same time. Plus the names are completely perfect! Please, please don't stop making them - if you are tired of looking at them at your house, my yard is in desperate need of a pagoda :).
I do keep seeing in my mind, however, another pagoda with the blue glass from the hanging lamp on another of your posts!!
Also, I just took a look at your album, and I love your dragon wind vane. And the dragon/monster you made, labeled "rr"!
I am wondering what you have in mind with those gorgeous tile sets. Please tell me you didn't paint them. I may hang up the idea of any future projects knowing you are so talented in so many areas!
