Growing Muscadines, Did Something Dumb

vicious

I decided to try my hand at growing muscadines this year, and thought I had done sufficient research prior to planting them, but I didn't. I made an adequate trellis, nice post and #9 wire, but for some reason I trained the plants to have one vine, instead of two growing in opposite directions. The plants are placed next to the posts, with the vine growing towards the far post, instead of the traditional method of having the plant in the middle and two vines growing outward.

I also have been removing the leaves from the trunks all year, thinking that would get the vines to grow longer. Now I read that your not supposed to do that, whoops. Both plants look healthy, I just wonder how much my production will be hamper by these training mistakes?
