bark grafting

So far with all the grafting tutorials i have studied i have been now very succesful, but one thing i would like to improve. If you rootstock is large to very large you should graft several sions around the rootstock stump in particular with persimmon. After the sions are growing you cut them off except the ones you want to keep. The roostock will cover-up more quickly. Also the rootstock should be cut at a slight angle for drainage. Am i wrong?

My grafting succes is at 75%.
