What type of grapes are these?

I got these at home depot and both of them were marked as Concords but they look completely different and the first one is growing much faster than the the second one. Does anybody recognize these? And how well will they do in central Florida?

I don't know what they are but they could hardly grow any worse or die any faster of Pierce's Disease than "Concord" would in central Florida. Home Depot and Lowes cheat tens of thousands of gardeners yearly by selling them plants that will not grow in their region. Go to a local private nursery and buy one of the University of Florida selections that is resistant to PD. One is similar to "Concord" it is claimed, named "Conquistador" I believe, but there are others PD resistant selections from U of F ("Stover" "Lake Emerald" "Blue Lake" and others). Ask your extension office for the names of some local nurseries that have these grapes. None of us who really cares about fruit growing should ever by a fruit plant from these big box cheats. A crepe myrtle on clearance, maybe. Or a clearance "Bradford" ornamental pear to graft onto. But don't encourage their widespread cheating of unknowing customers by buying fruit plants from them, even the occasional appropriate one. Lowes' signs claiming expert gardening advice are especially galling.

Nobody plants Concord here in Southern California. It appears to be a cold weather grape. It might be a little steamy for it in Florida. peirces disease is carried by a bug (similar to what mosquitos do with malaria), and it is spread by sucking the juices of an infected plant and carrying it to another.

All vineyard owners here take precautions against that bug, the glassy winged sharpshooter, and the gypsy moth, by spraying regularly.

I know spraying is NOT organic, and the grapes you purchase at your grocery store have been sprayed. Commercial growers do not take chances. I spray with Merit by Bayer.
If you want to grow grapes, you should research your climate in other parts of the world, so that you choose varieties that are easy to grow in your climate.

The big box stores are not the only ones that mix labels up. I got the wrong fig from Gurney's, but it turned out great! The one I got is far better than the one I ordered.

A friend bought these at Market Basket in Boston. They were labeled "red grapes," but they look different and are very crisp and crunchy. Does anyone know what type of grape this is? She wonders if they are some type of heirloom. Thank you.

Back in 2012 I added: Candice (x2), Concord Seedless(x3), Himrod, Niagara(x2), and Mars. Last year I added Reliance. I used plant tags for all of my 2012 grapes but the permanent ink apparently wasn't permanent and washed off all of the tags. From memory and the process of elimination, I think I have worked out all of my grape vines. I just purchased from what was offered locally so I ended up with most of my grape varieties being slip skin, which as mentioned elsewhere in the forum, isn't the greatest for fresh eating. Based on research and forum feedback, I'm going to pull a couple of low performing slip-skin vines and replace them with Jupiter, Gratitude and Hope.

There are quite a few choices. The link below shows several that are suitable for zone 10. In Charles Boning's excellent book "Florida's Best Fruiting Plants" he discusses even more varieties, how to grow them, taste and uses. I have 6-7 varieties now, and get a bountiful crop every year. I know one thing. I surely wouldn't be spraying my grapes I planned to eat with
anything non organic. The florida farmers market bulletin on the web has very
interesting stuff. Check with them every month. They are right about Lowes. wow. like they sold red raspberries this year that will Never grow here.
I've seen conquistador there once and grew it and it
is great. ( you must bag. see page 12 or 13 on that. Very interesting things come up. There is a new grape called southern home, very sweet, seedy, black
but with the tough muscadine skin.
