Vegtable Gardening 101

Well it was quite a year. I had my first garden in 12 years, what a blast. I can't wait till spring! All in all I had good success with everything. I made a couple of newby mistakes; planting too much was the main mistake. The second was seeing a black stripe on the stems of my pepper plants, thinking it was a disease and pulling them. The garden as a whole was bug and disease free, I had one small infestation of white flies. On the side of the house, not in the main garden, I tried to grow a giant pumpkin from seed someone gave me from a 600 lb plus pumpkin. It grew well at first and then started wilting very bad like it needed water, however no amount of water would make it look right. My broccoli did well but the cauliflower only made small golfball size heads. Right now i have the garden full of various onions and garlic. For all of you that are in the winter duldrums, I have included some pics.
