On Saturday a friend called me and said "do you still make the plate flowers cuz I just saw some plates that already look like flowers!" Turns out the Am. Cancer Society was having a yard sale in our little downtown park. So I rushed down and there they were! Plus lots of other stuff. I think I need to make mini bottle bugs now. Lots of avon bottles and some old bottles.

I got everything except the two larger vases for $5. Then the vases were at a different table and they said make an offer and I felt guilty about such a deal before so I gave them $1 each.

I gotta get my stuff out and make things! But I've got so much to do on the house and yard - I'm out straight from the moment I get home from work until dark. Soon tho...

Great stuff! I can't wait to see what you do with the flower plates. I keep seeing on decorating shows how they create a grouping of bottles and old vases of different shapes and sizes and put a single flower in each. Kind of like making the grouping a bouquet rather putting a bunch of flowers in a single vase. Love the look with old bottles. I really love that little teapot though! Keep us updated on what you eventually do with your finds!

Thanks everyone:) The plan is to take off the arms and candleholder and leave the wings,it looks good on the peak of the greenhouse. I'd like to paint the wings lavender,the angel is already aged looking. The plate and saucer are cracked and chipped so they're going into mosaics,the dainty cup is going to go on another chandelier birdfeeder that turned out to be a squirrel feeder;those sweet little tea cups apparently are the same size as a squirrels behind. Seems they can sit in one cup and reach over to the next one and eat at leisure,they are however kind enough to dump plenty of seeds on the ground for the birds.

IE won't let me see your blog either, tasymo. I'm not pc smart enough to know why. The page starts to load then an IE message box comes up and says it can't do it, operation aborted. If I click on the box it closes the whole page, if I don't it stops loading and I can't scroll the page or click on anything on it. Just wanted to let you know. Donna

C/angel..I know the cartoon character you mean..and I laughed because that was definitely the case here! jeanne..luvs...wish you were there...wish you were there!! Glad you liked it all.. Shee..thanks for the compliment...I've seen your pic..and I feel 'You' are the adorable one!! Punk...glad I didn't let you down. I know what you mean about buying it then think about it later...I try to do that..but this time around...I think I was so overwhelmed...I got 'Stupid' !! :( As far as putting it all away... I really had to work hard at it today...finding places to squeeze things in. I'll have to go back to rearrange and change where they went.. that's the hardest part...and it's getting harder. Estate Sale, Tag Sale, Indoor Yard Sale?

Here an estate sale is considered an indoor with outdoor items perhaps. Almost everything in the house is for sale and tagged. Usually by someone in the estate sale business. Things are clean and as I said tagged. Usually large items will have a sign saying they will take bids on them - if applicable. Prices are firm until the last day and usually on that morning things are 25% off and later in the day maybe after 11 they go half price. on a big sale the place iscleared out before the 1/2 price goes into effect and then people are let back in. The prices range from the perceived value of the item. I've seen both ends of the spectrum. People line up well before the usual 8 am opening to get in. Most of our sales are run by two popular Estate sale agents and their crews. A tag sale might be in the empty house or just items already priced If you have a lot of stuff it might be well to contact an agent in your community. It might be worth it just to avoid the hassles and headaches and they are usually responsible for everything. One of the most disgusting "estate sales" I went to was run by the family and they had their bed ridden aged mother in the living room watching people go thru her stuff while the family sat around drinking coffee.

You found FANTASTIC stuff!!! And the prices are great, too. But the little teapot has really caught my eye. It's just too cute! Would be great as the topper on a teapot totem.

Soooooo many gorgeous hunks-a-glass! Love it all but those plates are divine! I'm resisting making glass garden flowers but you ladies aren't helping! LOL So far I'm telling myself I don't know how so don't let me in on the secrets! haha
