I just want to say how much I love Spring!!!! Thank You God!!!!!!!!! I just love how everything comes alive and gives me hope of a wonderful and beautiful day!!!!!! Just had to share that feeling cuz I know you all will understand!!!!!(-: Have a happy evening!!!!!!!

Oh, I do! I feel so much more alive myself when it's nice out! I love seeing everything come to life outside! But you know what, I like fall and winter, too...I just get tired of winter after a bit! LOL

Thank you to Brandon, Karen, Jonathan and others who organized the event and set-up the web site. We were newcomers and had a wonderful time. It feels almost sinful to come home with so many nice plants! What a joy to meet new people and learn about new plants that I was not familiar with. The location was great for kids - they could go back and forth between the water/playground area and the swap. On that note, I also appreciate that folks were so open to my children - this is a time in their life when experiences with plants can leave many memories and lead to a life of gardening. Thanks all. We feel very fortunate to have attended.

I don't really think we'll be swamped; gardening events don't really generate the kind of response that, say, a rock star concert would... & even if we do get swamped, we'll have the signs up about sharing & bringing a dish & so forth; Let's have tickets for the meal same as for the drawing: bring a dish, get a lunch ticket. bring Brenda a plant, get a lunch ticket. contribute supplies, etc, get a lunch ticket. We've always tried to set up near the gazebo (can't set up inside because it always seems to be reserved), since it's far off the street. I'll check with the parks people tomorrow & find out if there's anything going on that will make it impossible to get back inside the park. If there is, we'll just set up where we did last autumn. & I'll prepare some bright yellow signs to point the way! .

Pretty swallowtail Lorelei, I saw one laying eggs on our parsley plant today. However a few nights ago while June bugs hunting, I encountered with a huge hummingbird hawk moth laying eggs on sweet potato leaves just a few inches from my face. It was so quick I froze. No time to take pictures. But now I know why I have been finding horn worms eating my sweet potato green. Bugger.

No, sorry I don't know him. I am a founder and life member of the Watergardening Society...which used to be called the Waterlily Society, and I was very active but not so much in the past 25 years. Waterlilies enjoyed a boom in the 1980's. That is when the group was formed and I knew many of the hybridizers back then. Unfortunately, most of them have passed on now. They used to have a symposium every year....a different state, and many over seas. I think they just meet in San Angelo, Texas now, which is where they have a display garden of many varieties. Since so many of the older members have died, I don't believe they do much now. It's a shame. I have loved waterlilies since I was about the age of 10. I especially like the miniature varieties. I used to have many of them....but came home one day after spending the day with my mother, who was terminally ill, and my horses had gotten out and destroyed just about my whole collection. It was at a time in my life where I was over whelmed and I couldn't bring myself to sort through all of it. I had about 200 varieties at that time.

You bet! Even the air smells better in the springtime. So great to walk out on the patio with a cup of coffee and feel the warm sun on your face, and smell the flowers fragrance and see their pretty colors. Love it. Luvs

It's been wonderful,I've had blooms and birds and butterflies for a while now,and it's already hot here.Our tomatoes will be ripe any day.

No, but I sure am enjoying my fall flowers! So many Salvias are starting to put on their show - I often just stand in the middle of the garden and gaze at the magicalness (new word?) of it all.

I LOVE spring!! Things are popping up all over the place. I can't seem to stay inside. The house is a wreck and I'm tooling around in the gardens all the time. lol

Glad we had a great winter here in Florida since we are burning up literally now.They just told everyone to stay inside because of the smoke and its irritants.Stay inside YUK !!!!That means do stuff like house work, my garden needs me!I am jealous of Y'all!Can't water can't breathe Geez what do they want from us!
