Oh my gosh, that's horrible. Hope you can find another to replace it.

It makes you wonder what people are thinking. Surely they know you can pick them up for a couple of bucks, or free at the bowling alley. Probably some kids looking for kicks. I've got two waiting in the wings, wish I could toss you a couple to replace the one that was stolen.

I hate to hear that. I can't believe people will do that. This is the 2nd post this week I've read about thefts. Makes me want to forget about trying to make the front yard look nice. I hope the guilt keeps them up nights.

I'm so sorry. We also had a flying goose stolen from a road to nowhere. Check the ditches up and down, that's where they tossed my goose. These people don't want it they just want to destroy something nice.

Either that or take it as a complement that you made one awsome bowling ball worth stealing.

When I had macrame, 3-tier hangers, I had some stolen from the front porch. Haven't missed anything lately, but my garden is behind a chainlink fence with barbed wire at the top, and locked gates. LOOK, but don't touch!

Thanks for the commiseration. I'm trying to be charitable and think a long the lines that it was someone who needed it to actually bowl and thought if I was just going to use it for an ornament they could put it to its intended use.

So sorry to hear that, but I can understand how you feel. We live way out in the country,and my things get stolen quite often. One of the reasons I don't want to pay too much for anything. They really like to steal the Halloween decorations...... I'm keeping an eye on my tipsy pots I put out by the mailbox, I don't expect it to last too long:)

I'd like to add my commisseration as well. I can't put too much out in my front yard or it goes bye bye too. Sure makes you feel violated. Hope you can have some fun making a new one and hopefully find a safer home for it. ~Anj

I think that a lot of times it is more vandalism than actually someone stealing. When my older son was in HS he went to a party on a Thurs. night and when he came home early, I asked if he had a good time. Turns out, the boys (mostly 'good' kids in the top of their class) would go riding around and vandalizing property. It was a regular thing on Thurs. nights. Kind of like a scavanger hunt....
We had a "private drive" sign at the end of our dw which cost me a bit because it was custom made. Someone came and bent it trying to get it off the pole, then a few weeks later they cracked it into pieces and left the pieces.
I replaced it with a cheaper one, they bent it on two different occasions.
My husband fishes and once when he was back in the woods at our local State Park, he found many mailboxes piled up along the road. Most were in perfect condition, just off the poles.
