Bagging apples story & question

marknmt

I bagged a few of my apples this year in sandwich bags with twist-ties, which was pretty doable. Yesterday I harvested a few State Fair apples. In spite of conscientious spraying only the ones in the bags were free of codling moth.

But my wife refuses to eat the ones that were bagged because she worries that the plastic, exposed to the sunlight for weeks as they were, might have emitted something that the apples picked up. She doesn't want me to eat them either.

Any possibility she's right? Anything I can offer her to show that the subject has been considered and laid to rest?

Thanks,

Mark
