Our cottage has an abuncance of pesky squirrels as well (raid the bird feeders) however its not the squirrels that are the problem more so the deer I tried growing the sweet miniture corn in an earthbox last year and kipped it on the deck. The squirrels didnt bother it and the deer would not go onto the deck (had beets as well on deck) The corn came out okay but they were so small nobody were interested in them If the description on the yield turns out to be true this would be fantastic getting fresh corn in our cottage country neck of the woods is just not there and this would be a wonderfull oppportunity. There is drop off/pick up postal service just across the border in Pembina ND just for people like us who want to purchase something in the States from business in the States who do not ship to Canada. Last resort will be following up on this and will update everybody in the fall whether a successs or failaure

I would think around 2x2. The space i used outside is about 4x4 and container plants can usually be planted at the minimum spacing which would be 6" for sweet corn and you want at least a 4x4 planting block for good pollination.

Well you can give it a try but with the understanding that the odds are against you in a container that small. I'd plant 7-10 seeds spaced around the outside of the container and thin to the best 5. Tie off the container so it doesn't fall over. Once pollen is developed on the tassel cut one off and lightly beat it all over the silks on the ears. Repeat daily with a fresh tassel. Dave

Indian Corn is NOT sweet corn for eating fresh, it's for grinding into corn meal. You can make "elote" (boiled green field corn), but it doesn't taste much like sweet corn. I don't bother with corn because it's too much work and space for the amount of food you get.
