growing grapes in southern california

lagunas

I purchased a zifandel grape plant at Armstrong. It has about 5 bunches of small green grapes on them. (The branch with the grapes broke and the grapes dried up so now there are no grapes)

I am not sure what the age of the plant is and since we really don't get a winter, I am not sure how to prune it or when.

Right now the one branch is about 3.5-4 feet long and the other stub has started growing a new leaf near where the branch broke.

I also stuck the branch that had the grapes into the same container with all but one half of one leaf removed. It has now grown several leaves. I assume I should let that one just grow for two years. But what should I do with the other?
