Guess what I did today?

I was a busy little bee! I made three bird feeders, a plant holder out of an old coat rack I bought for a dollar and I turned a tulip "chandelier" into a planter. So much fun! Thanks to all for your inspiration!!!

Hi jlhug, thank you for the welcome to the Prius family. I am happy to be a member! ;-) I found priuschat.com today & there's some good information there. I was lucky in that a friend just purchased a Prius 3 weeks ago. So he told me all about the "break-in" period, and what I should and should not do for the first 600 miles. I commute to work four days of the week, and average a daily 55-mile roundtrip. I use the city streets & freeways every day to drive to work & back. So my decision to purchase a Prius will work out great for my driving needs. I've only had my Prius for 2 days, but I sure love it! As I drive, I watch the panel display for MPG readings and am learning fast as to what my car likes & dislikes. It's a great real-time learning tool. The mileage I am getting is above the posted 50/60. I'm not heavy on the pedal when I start, don't speed, and I take advantage of a lot of "coasting" ...which the Prius really likes! :) I haven't had a chance to look thru every nook inside the car, but I will sure find the spots you mentioned above. I am so impressed. Cooking for that many for for serving over a long timeframe too. WOW! I bet everyone is loving the meal too. You deserve a long soak inthe tub with a stemmed glass of something and a good nights sleep.

Thanks everybody for your kind words. We actually had people over this weekend SWIMMING. That said, we're still a landscape/construction zone. I'll put some pictures up of where we're at. marta p: Yes, we found a jump rock. It's perfect and will, hopefully, look amazing once properly landscaped. womanowned: VERY long process. However, I'm in Michigan so it's not quite fair of me to count Nov - March. Then in May, our Great Lake State had a record amount of rain which stalled us further. We're on clay so even when the rain stopped, the trenches needed to be pumped out, etc. I was patient because at the time my build was stalled, the rest of the country was experiencing devasting floods and tornados. Whenever I started to whine, I realized that my problems were small in the grand scheme of things. (I didn't necessarily share those feelings with the pool builder, though ;-) Once he got rolling, he rolled. Now we're trying to tie up landscaping.

Sleep in shifts on the ones that remain? Stack the denizens of your household on the ones that you have left? Check out estate sales? Send out messages to friends asking for contributions toward a mattress for Christmas (which you're celebrating in July, this year)?? Sorry that you've had such a frustrating day, Izzie. Do you have a list of email addresses of many of your friends, including ones from back as far as your childhood? Maybe send out a broadcast asking if any of them know of a family where they're clearing out the house of an elderly relative who's giving up the home ... says he, having read here on the KT this afternoon of the sadness of someone carrying out such a task. ole joyful

Thanks for the compliments! Yes, Marti, I made the loveseat out of an old metal bed I found in my garage. My dad put it all together for me and I decorated! :)

Very Nice! I especially like your "garden" sign with the plates - such a simple idea but very elegant! Your place is wonderful! Also love the bed/bench and the old metal tulip chairs!
