more leaves on one side than the other.
Comments (1)Hi, I'm no expert, but here's my 2 cents worth : ) The reason mine started doing this was they weren't getting enough light. Their leaves were stretching towards the light and it appeared the leaves were unbalanced. What kind of window do you have them in? East would be ideal, or west with maybe a sheer curtain to protect from afternoon sun. Another reason could be they are unbalanced in their pots. Check to see if they are set in firmly and dont wobble side to side. Good luck! Jen...See MoreBroken side shoot, tree philodendron
Comments (21)now i just air-layer the tip in moist long fiber sphag: the aerial roots near the tip are still white or i see little white root nubs. these grow very fast if wrapped in cling wrap with moist sphag. it needs to stay moist. a couple of weeks (at most 1 month if in winter) and i can pop the tip off. this way i do not loose the leaves. i lay it on the side to let the cut dry up and callous with roots still wrapped in sphag for a week or so. then it can be potted. i dust the cut with fungiside and wrap it with a bit of coir to keep direct contact with moist soil: it can still mildew otherwise. sometimes i lay it in shallow tub with mix with the tip sticking out sideways dry in the air. and grow it it like that until established. then i plant it vertically....See MoreBaby leaves not growing out, not blooming, brown along edges?
Comments (12)I'm carefully monitoring the plumies for any bugs but not seeing more than maybe a couple of scale here and there (not enough to be doing this for sure. I did see some black spots developing on a couple of the Aztec Gold leaves, but that's it. One of the inflos is still completely green so I'm hopeful! If the Penang peach leaves are not typical Penang peach leaves, can you post a photo of a Penang peach leaf?...See MoreSplit leaf philodendron leaves yellowing and falling off??
Comments (7)This is actually how large Aroids grow. Aerial roots grow in the crease between the oldest leaf and the stem. When the plant becomes taller (or longer, I should say) this will become more evident. The oldest, tiniest leaves naturally yellow and die, however I find this takes longer for M. Deliciosa (another large around, if you're familiar) than many of my other plants. If you are fertilizing, the white residue could be from that, or if you have hard water it may be from that too. Picture is a little unclear, but it doesn't look like mold to me. How did the roots look when you repotted? If they were brown or squishy, it could be rot caused by cold damage as suggested above. This is my monstera. You can see the aerial root is growing out of the stem just above a dried leaf that I cut off....See Moreaseedisapromise
