Pics --- One & a half totems done

The blue one is a "lighthouse" .... I put a solar light on the top . The top bottle was from GW - so was the blue vase. ------------ The totem isn't crooked - it was my photography !

Here's the top ......... what a cool bottle - I glued white & silver beads in the creases.

On the bottom plate - I used these plastic pieces I bought from Michael's long ago -- they look like cracked ice in a pale green , blue & clear. I also glued beads in to add some sparkle. ( It sparkles in the sun ... I took this pic in my craft room )

AND ---- Finally .......... a work in progress . I found this awesome odd red & pink vase at GW ... it called out to me. I siliconed what I thought would make a good "middle" . After I glued pearls around it -- I decided it HAS TO BE Victorian. Now I have to wait to find "just the right top" and "just the right base" .

I have a friend who looooves lighthouses. I bet he would go nuts for this one. Fabulous job.

I love the colors on the pink one. I'd be tempted to go white for the top and base to make the color pop even more.

Does your digital camera have an option to keep the shutter open for an extended amount of time? I've had a few different inexpensive pocket digital cameras and the option to keep the shutter open is usually there somewhere... hidden =P BTW I did a quick google search for bonding glass to glass and came across this: http://www.dymax.com/products/glass/index.php It cures under UV light which got me thinking: What if the UV light from sunlight would suffice? I've used silicone on so many random projects and it always seems to fail me in situations where there is a bit of stress or extreme temperature fluctuations. I'd hate to find out that your nice glass work toppled over during a storm from the gusts of wind. Anyways, I'll be crossing my fingers hoping that your cam has an open shutter feature so that you can snap a few night pics with the solar lights on! Peace, Mike

I'm so sorry about all the problems and breakage on the red one. Awful for that happen. But it looks nice now. I do like Tasy on some of mine. And definitely let them all set over-night before I move any. That birdbath is absolutely GORGEOUS. I love, love, love it. What great colors! Hmmm, you gave me some ideas for hummingbird glass feeders. (I think that cobalt bottle I recently showed with the metal hanger must've been one). But I found a large round multicolored globe in a neat copper holder and been trying to figure how to do something with the bottom so I could hang it. Thank you for inspiration. hugs, Karen

You've got it right now with the plates so they will drain & looking so good. I love the purple & the aqua with the half marbles & figure inside!! Nice work!! You may need to buy a storage shed to store all this in as they are rather difficult to store if you have to take them in for winter. Have fun but save some money to come home on!! New Rose Terraces Done- pics

The roses were sitting here in pots so I wasted no time in planting them. That very first smallest planter has my MARGO KOSTER polyantha and the second has my WING DING polyantha with the tiny band of EYE PAINT in back of it. Those two polyanthas some of you might remember because I bought them locally and then posted my rose haul. Also I asked about the size of MK on another thread awhile back. Then I had HAPPY CHAPPY, WILL-O-THE-WISP and CARPET OF COLOR, so I put all three in the last one. Too many for the size of the planter, will be needing to move the middle one (WILL-O-THE-WISP) probably. But I had them all dug up from the working and had to do something. I have no use for the big rock but its not the first time big rocks got dug up around here. I haven't been here too much because the roses flushed and then they rest so not much going on. They are starting to bloom again now. But I have been busy as I started on my rose moving project. I am redoing the rose garden running all along the side of my house and have already been moving roses and have lots more to go. I am SO pleased with the way this project turned out!!!!

1st thought on 2nd 1 is "where is the cake knife, I want a piece!!Center does look like it could be a woman too. Make her a Victorian woman! The lighthouse is really beautiful with all those rounds of crystal & white around the blue vase. So neat that it will actually light up! Nice work! Jan

wow,pretty and sparkly! love the lighthouse idea;i made one and will post it soon. but i haven;t made a totem in a while!

Very pretty. I love using solar lights on these. My one with the light really pleases me in the evening, more than my little sticks with solar lights on them.

TMG, you are giving me the totem fever. That light house is adorable and the pink one is gonna be even cuter. I've haven't been making any totems due to space limitations, but you are really tempting me.
