cindee, such a great job! I like this color. I was thinking about doing a sunrise on a fence facing door from the house to backyard using something very orange and cover it with something very sparkling. So i found a big old bowl broken from one side but this side will go in a soil of raised bed. Or maybe better to use old metal wok to create a full sun?

Did you paint this ball at first? What paint did you use?
What glue you were using for this project? Did you cover it with something for protection from elements?

I am completely new to such kind of work, would appreciate any information on a set of materials you are using for outdoor projects. Thanks in anvance.

I painted the ball first, a orange paint from WM, the cheap one. I didn't use a sealer on it but I have another ball out in the yard that has marbles and has held up well. I used the GE Silicone glue on it also. The wok would be a cool sun because its so large. I haven't found any orange mirrored tiles online but I did find some orange tiles so I bought them so I can make another ball. The orange color is really pretty.

My birthday was in January, sorry you missed it. The bowling ball is GREAT I love bright colors. Now if I could just find where I stored the bowling balls??????
Then I'd have to find the gems and orange paint! LOL

I bought five bags of gems to do the bb I had a few left over. Think there is like 70 to 100 in a bag. The orange ball is covered in orange gems and the ball was painted orange first.(-:

WOW Cindee, that's the first orange item that I've really liked enough to want in my yard. It turned out great!
I've got to do my two bowling balls and stop procrastinating and chickening out. One is planned for my son's yard, but can't decide what I want to do for my own.

forgive me for this but my eyes are telling me I'm seeing clear gems with the orange cateye in them, or are they solid translucent orange?

well I guess they are clear with a orange cats eye flat marbles. I got them at michaels. they look orange though..(-:
