A Bank for Toomuchglass' Junk-tion

Carol and I received two houses for toomuchglass' Junk-tion...one for each of us. Together, we already made the winery from corks and posted it. Tonight I made a bank, using pennies! (We can't place a penny bowling ball in the junk-tion so how about a bank made with pennies!?) It was GREAT FUN! The windows and door came from an old birdhouse that fell apart a few year's back. I couldn't part with the windows and door and just knew the right project would come along...just added fresh paint! Hope you enjoy our bank for the neighborhood. After all, we need a place where we can get money for our junk shopping! LOL! Bear Hugs! Kirk

I like them. I was tickled when I saw your bank. When I opened post was thinking pillars etc. This is so much better. I haven't finished mine yet. Hope to soon. Just a little final deco.

These houses are so cool and I love the variety! Susie, love the doggie and your colors! Jeanne, the tree is a great idea. Interesting that we both had the same shape and both of us put the shorter part of the house to the right. Marlene, when's the BBQ? Love the urns! What did you use for the medallion? Syble, great idea about the ornaments! Those are handmade keepsakes that need to be passed down to your grandkids! I hope your son will always keep them. I have a few plastic toppers that look like a draped in cloth olympic type lady. Will have to see it I can convert into angels with/for my grandsons! Thanks, Marlene, I hope I can use most of the parts! Trophy for bad ideas lol, Kathy/tmg, who else would be stupid enough to pile up more stuff around here, right when I'm trying to get more organized? Just me I guess, and DH is good about going along with my schemes (usually) LOL. In about 6 more weeks will be frost, my container plants will have to come back into the basement, and now there's tubs of marble & trophy parts everywhere .... CalamityJ, I would love to find ones with the chipped glass! Your creations turned out fabulous (as always)!TFS! Karen, I bet those trophies you had were nicer than these even. I've thrown away many things that I wish I'd kept, but hindsight is 20/20 on that .... yep, I plan to use some of the parts on fairy houses. Fixin' to start a manger I got at a yard sale, gonna convert into a fairy house. On top of Bday cakes, Jan, you always have great ideas! A motorcyle doing a wheelie on a boys bday cake might just work! The baby GS will be 1 this month .... I remember joining this forum about 2 weeks before he was born last year. I wanted to spend all my time here, but was pulled away with the family event, and the entire year has been that way. Getting better now though as time goes by. DD still has many serious health issues, though. Please keep her in your prayers. LOL garden2garden, yes DH and I are two peas of a pod for sure (37 years together). He's easily persuaded into my world of junk. You can see how content he is with his fully charged power tool nearby :-) Donna, glad you have some new ideas going .... no telling what materials you've got there! Luna, thank you! I love the white skate too!! That is a terrific idea & stars really make it along with the fur!! Gives me that warm & fuzzy feeling you get around holiday time,(I love the holidays)! Thanks for the skate paint answer. I would imagine larger town the price would be a lot more for a table or booth & "regulars" might get the "best" spots. Going somewhere else can be a worry, bad roads, weather turning bad etc. So I would consider all that & having to get up early to get there. Costs involved in going there count against your profits. We did Craft Boutique for 2-3 years in a woman's club & then over to bank we had a room they let us use. After we quit, Tole painting came in & I was still making crafts so our local park had tables to rent so GF & I shared a long table but they didn't do much advertising so we didn't sell much, few customers that came bought something from us but not many came as cold day & they bought little things so we took home most of what we brought. Shortly after that Craft Boutiques became jewelry & company made jams with country looking cloth with ribbon around or made in China stuff with that pulled off & ribbon added,etc.& I lost interest. I haven't been to any this year, few & far between, only couple I would liked to have gone to but had to do other things. Anyway check out distance ,costs before you go & also do you want to do it every year or make a lot extra so you can do your local 1 too. Jan

Well it is a bank of change...and that is what our Barry promised us. Change, loose change and no dollars. Cool idea Kirk.

My thought is: does toomuch get upset that her houses are posted before she gets to see them and put on the fence for us all to see? Probably not, cause one of the definite habits of a GJer is that we get so excited we almost have to post our finds before we get them in the back of the truck.

Kirk, you and Carol are pretty creative architects! What super imagination to make a penny bank. I love how it turned out.

What a great idea! Every town needs a bank!! I got an email that said you should always pick up a penny you find & read the message "In God we trust" & think of it as a smile from God!! Somebody make a candy store or malt shop or cafe. Gota eat someplace in this town!!Jan

Thank you for the nice comments! We had so much fun creating the winery and bank. Doing this project has given us ideas for birdhouses...soooo thank you toomuchglass!!! We just can't wait until we can see "the neighborhood" on the fence! In the meantime, our houses will be mailed tomorrow! :o) Bear Hugs! Kirk

I've been babysitting for so many days, it's strange to even be home..
I'm using the cut out, for the building I'm making, as a mouse pad, at this very moment..
it's a reminder to get busy on it!

I may take it with me tomorrow morning, to at least start to draw out a few ideas..
I can't take anything with me to possibly work on, while I'm there...uh...a 3 year old, the 22 month old and the baby, who will be 8 weeks on the 9th...
seems hectic but the girls play really well together and love their naps, so baby just sleeps through all their playing and when they take a nap, he gets up..so, there's no nap for gramma, at that place..lol
when mommy gets home, we're going to all get in the truck and go to the park and go for a walk...weather permitting.
the wood blank will be in my purse, by then..lol

I suppose you can consider this one taking a bit longer, due to 'family emergency'...

How cute is that! Love the "penny saved is a penny earned" bank! And every town needs a bank! I can't wait to see all of these up on Toomuchglass's fence. It will be adorable! Great job, Kirk & Carol!

I love both of them! You guys are so creative! Now that mailcount is almost over and Chris has gone back to sunny CA, I can get back to being creative! I need to get my house done along with some other projects running through my brain...Now that he sees that the bathroom floor is holding up well, Chris wants me to come up with something for the kitchen and diningroom floors! But the house for the fence will be first! I can't wait to get back to it.

Too cute!! Man! The Junktion is a booming town! Businesses popping up everywhere, mansions being built, now a hoity-toidy bank... what a great place to live!
