Comments (7)You go girl! That's great! With my slow dial up it takes a while for a picture to download. I read what you said you used to make it, and went to let the dogs out. When I came back and the picture had downloaded I was pleasantly surprised! It was so much more than I expected. It's beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Too hot here too. For the last month and a half it's been too hot and too wet for much outside stuff. Now it's just too hot. I'm hoping to get in an hour or so towards evening before the mosquitoes find me. Comments (11)Briergardener, We used Softflex beading wire and silver crimping tubes. My wife likes to bead and likes this wire for our windchimes as it doesn't twist in the wind. I know other people use other kinds of wire or fishing line. Nothing fancy in drilling. I used drill bits I bought in the clearance bin at the hardware store. The trick is to drill sloooow. I spray WD40 on the spot I'm drilling, put on some country music, and drill oh so slow. It's kind of relaxing. Good Luck! You'll have fun! Bear Hugs! Kirk...See Morewindchimes
Comments (1)I'd ask at the tool store. They do make drill bits that are diamond coated for drilling into harder surfaces. Some stones require an impact driver. However, I would think the issue would be drilling without cracking the stone. Also, depending on how smooth the stone is, you may need to score it in some way to keep the drill from walking on you when you first start out....See Moreconcretenprimroses
