Eggplant getting destroyed, please immediate help needed

Hi Friends, take a look at this sick eggplants, I just harvested a lot today, have been watching this infestation for about a week now and sprinkled sevin dust on it (that is that white stuff), now that I have harvested, I want to save these plants. I got aphids, spider mites, and possibly fungus as well. Also, next to these plants I got pepper plants and you can see ladybug at work.

most annoying is that rust colored fungus looking thing at leaf tips, close look at it showed these things moving, i.e. could be baby spider mites or something. Someone please help me save these eggplants before they die or spread into other plants.

Can you reach a hose, to blast the insects off with a spray of water? I'd try that first.

Personally, I'd also hit them with a Neem oil solution.

I'd blast them off with a hose, and then use a soap spray on them.

My star jasmine WAS doing fine, then very quickly leaves started fading into white, redness too, and no flowers. No evidence of insects. Put a poking stick in the ground and after a 3”depth, the stick just sunk into the earth with very little resistance, and then resistance again. Further digging revealed mole tunnels. I believe that the “air pockets” created by the mole has caused damage to root of plant. Most of the area is covered with 2” rocks and other areas have mulch, so it was not possible to see the ridge line of the moles. I had installed a water bubbler near the base of the jasmine root ball, which moles seem to like cuz more grubs collect. Now I will have to remove the rocks, dig and add more soil and remove the air pockets , and wrap a barrier of chicken wire around the root ball to deter the moles. I don’t even know if all this effort will save the plant, but I have to try. I HATE MOLES!

Thanks for your replies so far! I would just like to respond to a few of the issues which have been raised here. 1)There is a weight limit where I live on how heavy the dog can be and therefore, although I would love a golden or a lab, they are way beyond the acceptable weight. 2) I have a securely fenced in back yard which my pup would only be in when I accompanied him out there, leash on him of course, just in case he got a scent and wanted to escape/explore. 3) For the past 7 years (the time I have been in a wheelchair)I walked my cocker spaniel 3 to 6 times a day every day, rain or shine in my wheelchair, pooper scooper in hand. She died six months ago and up until the week before she died we were out walking, doing our thing. I could be wrong, because it has been a very long time since I have had a puppy, but I believe if the puppy ia exposed to me in the chair, that will be the "norm" for him and the way he expects to be walked when we go out. I should also say that the puppy is only 2 1/2 months old and has not completed his puppy shots, so he will not be going outside to potty until the vet says he is ready. I have "piddle pads" for the puppy which will be placed near the door for him until he is ready to go out. Until then I will be introducing him to a collar and leash so that he knows what to expect when we do go out for a walk. And I do agree with those of you who have said you thought the rescue folks were rude and inappropriate to me. I got off the phone with that person thinking I had just spoken to a psycho beagle nazi! Please keep your wonderful comments coming. They are more helpful to me than you know and I will of course keep you all posted to the eventual outcome of this saga. Many thanks!

Thanks Mikerno, I hope you are right! I've had them up on a stand the whole time. But the snail climbed up the legs of the table. I have since found (and removed) the snail that caused the damage and I have put copper tape around the legs of the table (I read online that snails cannot walk on copper). So hopefully that'll keep the snails away from now on. My main concern now is that the 5 damaged plants survive.

The inspection was overwhelming -114 pages long! This included lots of pictures. I said on the other forum that I expected there to be things on the list being an old house. The sellers had gone down on their price, in fact lower than what they bought it for, so I wasnt expecting they would give us much in allowances when the report came back. Also we wanted to be fair. So the report came back and it was bad. The deal breaker was the pipes. They are made of some kind of plastic that over time oxidents in the water weakens the material and it becomes brittle and breaks. Then it can mess up the whole structure of the house. I called my insurance agent about it and they won't cover the house with the pipes. He called several other companies who said they don't. Finally I called the agent and asked who covered the home owners. Theirs did cover it. But the more We read the more spooked we got. Then theres a leak in the roof, in both bathrooms but they can't specify what kind of leak until they "open things up", needs new air unit and ducts, can lights (50?) and then theres just so much more. We called and said we were out. Our realtor said they want us to come back and offering 10000. But that might get a third of what needs to be done. There goes definitely half of reno money. So my heart is broken. I thought it was meant to be the way we found it.

Look like red clover mites. If so, not a problem. But repeated hosing should work to remove them form the plant .

You plants and the fruits (eggplants) look wonderful. The red looks like some sort of insect - if it were here in GA - I'd say aphids. Spray them off with a hose. If that doesn't work (or they come back) spray with soap or Neem solution and then hose off.

Wish my eggplants looked so good in this heat!

Clearly not aphids but mites. Spray with neem (to get powdery mildew too). Otherwise I see fairly nice plants.

Use the neem instead of Seven. Did you read on the package where it says do not harvest for x number of days after you use seven? Don't poison yourself and family. Neem can be used up to the day before harvest.

Thanks for comments. I could not find neem oil at home depot, any brand name I should be looking for? on Sevin dust, yes, it said to harvert at least 3 days after use, I took 7 days to be safe. Now to clear the critters, I removed infected leaves, did a jet blast, then sprayed it with mixture of BT and Organocide, hopefully it will solve the problem until next harvest.

I want to try neem oil. where can I get it?

It's hard to find around here.

Sometimes the Lowes has some premixed solution in their garden section.
...But I think we usually end up ordering it on-line (Amazon, maybe?).

Any decent nursery will have Neem. The BigBox doesn't have a consumer profile that uses it.

The first 3 places I tried were nurseries
and they had it at our Lowes.

Maybe I should have said The BigBoxes out here don't have a consumer profile that uses it. ? Now that I think about it, I seem to recall several threads on this board where I was surprised the local nurseries didn't carry something. Maybe it varies by region...

Yes, that was one of the joys of moving here.
You'd be right in NJ, but the nurseries here in SC are way different.

Probably the Big Boxes make a lot of money when they realize they can have a local monopoly on something like that.
