headboard/drawer flower box

I was following some of the links that were on roboladies site...and found this!! I love the flower box made from an old headboard and old dresser drawer!

I have several metal headboards (adult and youth sizes) "planted" in flower beds as backdrops and edgings..and this would make a great addition to that theme. This goes to the TOP of my project list!

Bet my cat would love the chair too! lol

I've been watching and watching for one of those metal toddler beds...I think they came in red, white or blue. I did see one on the curb one day but was in a hurry and didn't stop to get it... I'll just bend over and you all can give me a kick for that... patti

Refacing is not cost effective unless you do it yourself. And it is not a simple task, either. We did our own kitchen refacing, saved probably $8,000 in labor so it was worth it. But it was a lot of work, and applying the veneers took some practice and skill. I think what I would do is buy the new doors and new drawer fronts from Barker, they are very reasonable and they'll bore the hinge holes for you. Their website can give you a quote as soon as you enter the size, type of wood, etc. I'd paint the cabinet boxes, new doors and drawers (a bit of work, but hey, if you want to keep the cabinets...) Get the new soft close drawer glides if you must have them, (Rockler sells them I think) and either paint or line those drawers with something to cover the not so pretty inside bottoms. Add the new knobs or pulls, hang the doors, install the drawer fronts (this is not too difficult), and call it done. Shouldn't cost too much at all, and will update and refresh the cabinets. I agree with you, those older cabinets are solid, meant to last and I'd hate to rip them out too..

Hi it's been awhile but I've finally got the bedding for my bed and I love it. I've also put my old oak wooden dresser and night tables back in the room with the black headboard. The furniture has black handles on it. I've also put the old lamps back too. My question is what do you think and should I put the mirror above my bed or look for something else? Also should I use these curtain panels or just blinds no panels? I'm also going to put a rectangular mirror with a black frame above the dresser. Do you have any suggestions on how to decorate the top of the dresser.

LOL! I love the broken chair "cat holder" but honestly... what ISN'T a cat holder? :) My whole house and everything in it is a cat holder.

But back to the garden junk... I have a couple old drawers that I've used for planters too, they were used in the basement workshop area by the previous owner of the house. I needed a planter and used what was available! Now I want to paint them though, I put them out nekkid.

Glad you found your way to my site and this site. They do have cool junk. I think I may make one of those, I've got 2 drawers in my barn that would be perfect. But I was thinking of just making them into regular window boxes, below the window. Never thought of using a drawer.
