my christmas and bday gifts

My brother got this for me and I am just now getting a picture. Its a long story but I haven't been in the groove of getting outside. I did work all weekend though getting the leaves raked and things are looking up here(-:

I plan to plant flowers in this in the spring. Until then it will sit and wait(-: I really think its cool. It has to be old as the hills...(-:

The other thing my brother made me for my bday was a flower birdfeeder. Its quite cool too. I filled it up with bird seeds and am waiting for them to locate it(-:

Please excuse the deadness around the yard. It won't look to exciting till things start to grow again in the spring!!!

Now why don't I have a brother like that! Cindee, you have an awesome brother. I love the metal sculptures. I have a couple of birds made of metal scraps and just love them. It certainly looks like he could fashion the branches of a bottle tree *looks wistfully*. I can't wait to see what you do with the ancient washer. Please post pics as soon as it blooms!

I finished everything, including a last minute pair of socks in the Patton stretch sock yarn (made 2 days before Christmas)! I also made a hand pieced and quilted queen sized quilt for our daughter, and a wall hanging.....several scarves, other socks and MANY dish towels - our daughter and a friend wouldn't consider it Christmas without a pile of these under their tree. I hate to be rushed at the last minute, so always start WAAAAAY ahead of the season! I'm still in 'sock mode' right now, but will probably start thinking about next year before January is out! I love to have things finished and tucked away in my closet, awaiting the next Bday or Christmas!

Jodi, See where the lable is, there is a 3 sided opening under that. It opens like a door. Just cut the 3 sides with an exacto knife. Flip it back and put the stuff in. I put a strip of packing tape over it then taped the lable over that. You can't see the slits until the lable is removed. Since he is 6, I really wanted to put something to embarrass him a bit, like a pair of underwear. I settled for sox. I put in small toys and dollars and change, and some candy. The person who introduced this on here, sent it in the mail, without wrapping it (just the lable.)

I have never seen a ringer washtub like that! It really must be old. It's totally awesome!

You are one lucky girl to have such a great brother!! The flowers and birdfeeder he made for you are wonderfull!!

I remember when I was a kid, my older girlfriend was helping her mother with the wash...and her hand and part of her arm went through the ringer. It was flat as a pancake...but no serious damage!

I am in total awe of that washtub!

Cindee, Talent runs in your family! Your brother made some pretty cool things! I remember your other posts, and he is always giving you cool things as well! What a great brother! Once again your brother comes through with a great find! I love the wringer washer. My mom has one that I would love to see out on the porch. Those flowers your brother made, and the birdfeeder, are very cool! Stuff like this reminds me once again how much I would love to learn how to weld!

Love the washing machine but the flowers are to die for. It makes me want to learn how to weld, so I can make some for MOI!!

Happy "belated" birthday, Cindee. Your brother is certainly very talented. The washer is certainly a wonderful find, you will have something nobody else has for sure. But I really love the flowers he made for you, they are just darling. I had fun just looking to try to figure out what he had used to make them--very cool.

Glad to hear things are looking up for you again, just hang in there long enough and most things do turn around, don't they? Your yard is always so awesome, know you are looking forward to Spring again. Take care.
