Sweet hub and I have been going saling every Saturday and picked up this wonderful three piece fountain.it is missing two tubes that I am sure we can replace. We already checked with the company and they do not have parts as it is older and they do not make it anymore. Sure glad he liked it as it weighs a ton!

Where does the water flow from the boy statue??? Did he have a flute in his mouth for the water to flow through? I just love it.

I'm fascinated with this fountain and how it was made. I'd like to give it a try and finish the top with a purchased glass ball, the kind for fountains that has a hole drilled top and bottom. The water would flow up the colored glass ball in the same way it's supposed to do with this fountain. At our store we have these hand-blown glass balls, and I think it would finish off the rugged concrete nicely. If you're making your own ball, I would use rubber tubing or a copper pipe to keep the ball open from top to bottom, so that the finished hole is the right size for your tubing that will carry the water up from the pump. But I'm curious about the reference to a hose being used. Are you thinking of hooking it up to the garden hose? The fountains I work with (table top and small garden fountains) all have a pump inside, and the tubing carries the water up through the spitter, or in this case the hole at the top, and gets recycled from a catching bowl (like the area below your ball) and up through the inside again. I'm getting the feeling that this fountain's not designed for that kind of function...?

Thanks Philips, I have this one sitting at the bottom of the preform, about 1' under the water. I have the tube on it sticking just out of the water about 1". I hope that won't stress it too much. Its sitting in the middle of a big filter I made for it with scrubbies. I actually borrowed my better pump and filter from my 300 gallon stocktank to inititally clear the preform better, and now I'm back to the fountain pump. Is your aquarium gravel cleaner just a gravity-powered thing? I think I have one of those I use when I drain my above-ground stocktanks. I had so many leaves and mud in the bottom of this little preform, I just had to net it all out. Like I said, I couldn't believe there were any living beings in there! I think they'll be lots happier now with clean water........or it will kill them. ;) Thanks for your help Philips.

What about good old waterfall foam? While it's not truly water resistant, it is used to keep water flowing where you want it to go instead of where it wants to go - i.e., under or behind rocks. When it's tacky to the touch, you can sprinkle it with rock dust so it will become nearly invisible to the naked eye, especially with water running over it.

He is called Peter pan which I guess pan is the musical instrument.They did send a photo of what he looked like new had and he had two copper pipes or tubing.He works great just doesn't have those but that is easy to remedy. The grandkids wanted to know why I had a barenaked boy in front of my house!!!His buttocks are exposed (sorry big_ D but it's the truth!)HAHA

paint a leaf to match and glue on the back....that will take care of it and by the time it wears out, the kids will pay no attention to it.

hi, maybe had a flute or something you could get a toy one to replace it..what a deal..I used to work at a garden center and they sold thoses fountains they cost a lot one like that would be in the $400 range..you got a steal...good job...linda
