Upright blackberries in Pacific Northwest?

I've become interested in some varieties of upright blackberries such as arapaho, navaho, commanche, and kiowa. My next door neighbor has a Navaho in an untended corner of her garden and it seems to be doing OK considering that it is neglected.

But everything I read on the internet about these plants comes from Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and other southern states. They bill these plants as ideal for the south. Do upright blackberries require southern climate conditions, or will they grow fine in the Willamette Valley of Oregon?

Most soft berries grow like wildfire here, but I don't know about this type of blackberry, but I'm keen to try.
