Yes, they were inside too long. I'd much rather transplant a six week old seedling than eight. The root system is a bit smaller and there's less transplant shock. Less shock, less delayed time before the plant recovers and starts growing again. Any time a tomato plant has flowers or tomatoes formed before transplanting, you've waited too long. Still, go ahead and put them in the garden. They'll still produce.

Tomes, when you say you "winter sowed" did you mean you sowed the seeds in the winter indoors, or are you referring to the winter sowing process. If your referring to the winter sowing method then you never need to have them indoors, not ever.

Yes, I did sow the vegetable seed indoors during the past winter. The strange thing is that all my seedlings were sowed and transplanted outdoors on the same day.

E.g. The Chinese Cabbage, different varieties of Lettuces and also some Spinach. But it's only the Parsley and Tomato seedlings that have produced flowers so early in the season.

I think from now on I am only going to allow the seedlings to be indoors for six weeks. Just to play it safe. Thank you Robin for that bit of advice.
