a few onion questions- for ordering spring seeds

i am trying to decide if i want to put in a bunching onion bed.

the main questions i have are: do they produce the first year, are they perenials, what is the flavor like, and if they will be ready at the same time or different times than the green onions from the yellow sweet spanish onions i grow.

what type will make a permanate bed for us to have green onions in the spring? Is there a type that will produce a fall crop also?

The company I want to order seeds from this year carrys Evergreen and White Spear types. i also see that Evergreen Seeds has alot of different types to choose from.

I was going to try for a potato onion patch, but i see most seed companies won't ship bulbs to Idaho.

Any help on this appreciated.

Another question: could i just use extra yellow sweet spanish seeds and straight seed in the spring for a fall crop of greens
