My recent dried fruit

I recently had an excess of Arctic Jay nectarines and Geo Pride pluot so decided to dry them. In the past I've dried mostly untreated fruit. This has resulted in a brown product of questionable quality. This time I tried burning sulfur like my neighbor did in CA. I couldn't get the sulfur to burn and after reading more decided that method had several negatives. So I bought some Fruit Fresh which contains both ascorbic acid (vit C) and citric acid. The nectarines were very ripe and sweet. I cut them about 1/4 inch thick. Two days drying in the sun and they were done.

The resulting product is superb. Better than even the high end stuff I've bought. The color is good and flavor may even be better than fresh.

This confirms by belief that the dried fruit I've bought is usually unsatisfactory because the fruit it was made from wasn't that good.
