I've been checking in often too!! I imagine Sylvia has had couple of uncomfortable days as swelling would happen after that kind of surgery so it should be getting better soon as I think they said she gets to get out of hospital after 4-5 days. It's been 4 days so hoping we hear good news by tomorrow. It's probably been hard on family these 4 days. Sylvia is a real trooper so doubt anything will keep her down long but when you can hardly eat & drink it kind of cramps your style for awhile most of us really enjoy those things!!!Praying for a great tomorrow for her & that food will look, smell & taste good again soon!!Jan

Awwww, Syliva, I'm sorry to hear that he passed away but at least his awful suffering ended. How awesome of you to be there for him when he needed someone the most. I'm sure he's telling them up in heaven that he knew an angel here on earth! Prayers go out to you and your daughter and her children for this awful loss in your lives.

I am having trouble posting to the exchange page. I don't get the message box, just a line saying to log in, but I AM logged in. :( Oh well. I'd like some purple sweet tater slips. I bought some from the flea market to start, but they must have been in the sun too long they rotted so fast. I was also hoping someone had some red banana pups. I am trying to start some turmeric to bring....we'll see if it 'takes' or goes the way of the sweet potatoes.

Hi Carmen We are getting to know a nice group of gardeners that are local, maybe soon we can do a get together, I will let you know. And it is good that you are learning to do canning, even if you did not have a harvest from your garden, you can always find veggies and fruits at their prime that they are grown close by at the farms. The u-pick farm that I always go is Valley View Vineyards and it is on Howie in the Hills, the owners are very nice, and you can get their schedule for fruit picking, like figs, grapes, persimmons. I have to tell you that this year it is not so good for peaches, when you go to pick up inspect your fruit because he is late on his schedule for spraying. Then you can drive to Mark's blueberries, and you will find that this year was very good for blueberries, you can pick to your hearts content and eat some too.:) the farm is in Clermont, Highway 561 right off 27. Call them for hours, I think I saw Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 2pm. They have a lot of fields where you can pick and if you go early in the morning it will be nice and breezy. They also have local honey available. I will also advice you to keep on eye at the Winters Garden farmers market, they get some really nice peaches from Georgia and when in season they have good prices, nice and big peaches that will be perfect for canning in halves, tasty!
