Bass pecan company in area trees grow very good I don't no how many mile but north of new oreleans 100 are so miles one best pecan tree nut area in world. They start digging after christmas day sell week later until all gone bare root. In fall 2005 I paid 17.00 per plant in tall pots are best it get away from root bound like in short pot at bass tree grow into month December. Those 1,000 trees grew off faster any tree every planted around trees produced 25 pounds third year. All trees had some nuts third year. I have bought pecan trees from other nursery's but buds are large on Bass trees large buds can grow better they prun easyier using proper methods.

If your looking for pomegranates, I would purchase from rolling river nursery. They seem to have the largest variety of pomegranates, then any nursery I have seen (I have purchased from them before with a great experience).

Wow, Nullzero! Great source. They do seem to have a very large selection of poms (39, to be exact) and they have an excellent Garden Watchdog rating.

I was surprised with their selection as well. I order pomegranate trees from them about 2 years ago when they had about 9 varieties. I can't figure out where to start now... I believe I saw a couple cold hardy Russian varieties for those who are at the edge of pomegranate growing zones.

I bought a pecan tree last year from Bass Pecan (after the stick that arrived from a well known catalog company died within a few weeks). Great service, great over the phone help in selecting a good variety for my area. It's doing very well.

When I received my first order of the Mammoth pecans, I was pleasantly surprised. The pecans were meaty, delicious ~ just undescribable. My second and last order was a ripoff. No longer were they mammoth, but blended which a mixture of a few mammoth, but mostly pieces and NOT tasty at all. When I called, I was told they are going from mammoth to blended and will let the proper dept know how unhappy I am. When ordering there was no choice between mammoth and blended only mammoth or pieces. I just feel that is very dishonest. They should add the 'blended' to choices so the customer knows exactly what to receive.
