June Bugs/Japanese Beetles on Cherry Trees
Comments (1)Japanese Beetles just LOVE cherry tree leaves and roses. I spray Sevin daily on my morning and afternoon walk around my garden. I also put up a trap. Together with Sevin and my trap, I do what I can to protect the foliage as best that I can. However, I did apply milky spores earlier this spring so I am hoping that this will soon kick in. It will take about a year to notice in the garden, but I think I am already noticing a slow decline in the amount of beetles buzzing out of my lawn. Last year, they would swarm out of my front lawn in numbers too many to count....See MoreHatching Iridescent green bug harming my weeping cherry tree

Comments (13)Okey dokey I got some pics. The first two are of what I'm guessing are the adults, hope they are clear enough. The last one is the underside of the leaf, there are lots of black 'spots' that are too small to really see. For all I know it's larvae of some kind, or the bug's poop. And there is definitely a silk like substance on a lot of the leaves. In the first pic you can see some of it off to the right. I got a spray insecticide. It's called Garden Safe Insecticidal Soap. I sprayed it on all the leaves and the undersides. Thanks for all your help :) I really hope this works. Any ideas on what they are, and suggestions on getting rid of them, is very much appreciated :)...See MoreTiny round flying black bugs eating leaves
Comments (5)I have a similar problem and am using this recipe with some success: 1 bulb garlic crushed, 1 onion crushed, 1 Tbl cayenne powder, 1 Tbl liquid dish soap, 1 quart of water. You can spray or just splash/rub it on the leaves by hand. Many find that a mild dish soap solution alone will work. Good luck!...See Morelilacs_of_may
