Bagging Fruit - Is This The Right Way?

This will be my first time bagging fruit, so I need a little bit of help to make sure I am doing it right. I have read some on the internet and read some of the post here at GW, but I just need to know that I am doing it right before I get too far along.

In my first picture I need to know if that I am preparing the baggie right. 1) Cut the corners out; 2) remove the excess amount of plastic above the "zipper" part of the baggie; 3) cut a "V" notch in the zipper for the stem of the fruit to fit in.

I am also posting a picture of the baggie on a pear to make sure this is how it is supposed to look.

Do I have to remove the excess amount of plastic above the zipper part of the baggie? The reason I ask is, because I can get the baggies ready to put on my fruit a lot faster if I donÂt have to remove it.

Thanks for the help,

David
