Hi Bruno2, The biggest crop will be had when all of your vegetation is dead,brown,withered,almost to the point that you can't remember where you planted them, ..... That said, I don't have the time or patience for that ;-) I would make a terrible VULTURE , I could never wait for something to die, I would go out and kill it ;-) So, anyway,,,, after about 90 days or so, I would reach my hand down and pull out some wonderful "new potatoes", you don't have to ever kill the plant, just reach down and take whatever you want,whenever you want it. This has been established that once tomato turns color, the rest of ripening process is internal to the fruit and needs not any help from the mother plant. A lot of gardeners harvest their tomatoes once color change occurs. They do this for several reasons : --- rainy period ahead , to prevent spoilage. . --- birds and other culprits eat/damage them. --- Tomato variety is prone to splitting and cracking if left on vine long time. After harvesting, just store them single layer on newspaper , AWAY from direct light, in room temperature. If you be careful in picking and not blemishing them, those tomatoes can last for days if not weeks or until you consume them after changing full color.

I have five kids (eldest is almost 12, youngest is almost 2) -- they are fantastic, incredible, wonderful creatures :-) We have four sons and a daughter, and our home is filled with the sounds of giggling and arguing and jumping and running and chitter-chatter. My husband and I go to bed every night thanking one another for the family we have. The first two boys (26 months apart) each arrived 11 weeks preterm (29 weeks' gestation) and required months of hospitalization in the NICU, including multiple surgeries, ambulance rides and long nights of wondering if they'd survive until morning. They finally became healthy little toddlers and I had my tubes tied, thinking there was no way I could bear to bring another baby into a terrifying scenario like that again. Time passed, and the yearning got only stronger for more children...I discovered the source of my obstetric problems (a congential gynecological defect) and underwent a grueling seven-hour surgery to repair my tubes and correct my dysfunctional anatomy. Went on to have three more scrumptious kids and now I have five healthy, gorgeous children. It's exhausting, yes. It sometimes causes a bit of financial juggling (I'm a SAHM). The volume in my house is often very high with clamors for my attention or frustrations among the siblings, but it's nothing compared to the joy of hearing them laugh uncontrollably during an afternoon of goofing off as a family. I don't worry about the teenage years -- we've done our best to lay the groundwork to raise our kids with enormous self-respect and self-esteem. They'll make mistakes, I'm sure of it, but hopefully they'll return to their core values and continue to grow into fine adults. Until then, we have years of baking cookies, chasing the dog around the backyard, monitoring homework and tidying up mountains of Hot Wheels and multi-colored wooden blocks with these sweet, funny little kids we're so lucky to call our own. It's all good. Create the family you want, and then pour your heart and soul into enjoying your blessings. If you already feel sad about *no more babies, ever* and the vasectomy hasn't even happened yet, you're clearly not ready to move on -- you'll know in your heart which path is right for you and your family. There is the kitchen and there is THE HOUSE! In 1989, my husband bought a house built in 1950. He did a huge remodel and added the second story. Then we married in 1997, looked for a house together, could not find a acceptable house that we could afford. So we have been "remodeling" in spurts since then. There is nothing left of the orginal house except for the foundation and a few framing lumber. In retrospect, we would have spent less money and ended up with a better house had we torn down and built new. But we did not have enough money or foresight to make that happen at the time. Because most of us did not score big during the dot come era, most do not have enough money to do the total house remodel at one time. We have to break them up in bits. The kitchen was built new in 1990. We just took that kitchen out and put in a new one. We are not done with this remodel, which is essentially upgrading what was done in 1990.... The bathrooms were done in 1999. I am looking at the bathrooms and realizing that the caulking has to be redone. We just had the electricians "redo/upgrade" some of the things from 10 years ago. For example, outdoor soffit lights needed to be augmented and the outdoor motions sensors re circuited since they were not coming on when needed. Minor jobs, but none the less, something that has to be done. Unfortunately, when you stay in the house long enough, you have to touch up/redo the stuff that you did many years back. So for us, we do what we can ourselves. Additonally, every couple years, we call the trade people and give them a list of things that need to be fixed/upgraded. Keep your electrician and plumber's phone numbers handy!
