I had a Berry good day. Thank you Berry much. (pics)

I was walking around my property today and noticed that on one of my hills the wild strawberries had ripened. I thought i would get a few but after moving all the top cover to the side there were berries as far as the eye could see... as long as you were looking straight down :P

Now I just have to figure out something to do with them other than pop them in my mouth haha.

Can't speak to the blackberries but my 3 raspberries (Caroline, Purple Royalty, and Latham have no problem at all with full sun and temps. in the 90s with howling wind. My berries are on drip too, perhaps you are over watering them and killing roots, that could give the appearance of under watering as the leaves would wilt back and in the heat from dead roots. Just a thought. Make sure and observe the wetting pattern in the soil when you irrigate to see where the water is going, I put 2 lines down the bed to cover the full width of the bed with each irrigation. Are the upper leaves or lower leaves the ones browning, is the browning over the entire leaf or just the leaf margins?

Birdsong - I'm sure they did leave a "tip" but it's all out there in the swamp. Yesterday, on my walk, the swampy area up the road held robins, bluebirds, song sparrows, titmice, white-throated sparrows all singing away. It's a great "birdy" place 'cause in addition to the wetlands, a stream runs through the area, making it very attractive to the birds. I'm in Hunterdon County, close to the Morris County line. Re: the calendar - I figure it's all uphill from here - even if it should snow with the angle of the sun getting higher every day the snow won't stay around too long - says she with her fingers crossed. I probably just jinxed us. It does look as if we are headed for a couple of weeks of below normal temps. again.

I couldn't believe it when I looked over the pics how many different ones there were...We have the bird feeders set right in front where you can view from 3 places... Abr, lol, thats a blueburd and it was windy chilly. Birds puff them self up to keep warm.. Photo2, Suet cake... Did anyone notice the sparrow going after the doves tail feathers? Mishevious, sparrow....I had to laugh... Thanks again for looking! juanital

Thanks everyone. They were tasty but a lot of work for little pay off. Kinda like crab legs.

I had a berry good day, as well. Of course, my photo doesn't look as good as yours, but i've picked 4 gallons of these babies this week! Jam and cobbler - here we come!
