Looking for hints on transplanting apricot grown from seed

Hello, this is my first post on the site and am excited to participate. I grew three apricot seeds I started in September of 2013 in small pots, probably about a quart size. I vernalized them in the fridge first to spring a little root and then put them in potting soil. They grew into spindly, leggy whips in my south facing windowsill and all the leaves came off on one and all but the top 2 leaves on the other two. First, do these things stand a chance if I repot them outside in bigger pots when it's a little warmer? Or once they're leggy is that the way it goes forever for them? Thanks for any thoughts and I'll try the search feature to see if any others have done this. Andrew
