It does indeed look like heat damage, and it's not unusual to see a few of these type of leaves, especially at the onset of the high heat as the tree "hardens off" to it. Pink Lady does tolerate high temps and does fine in Phoenix and Las Vegas. If this tree is killed by it despite plenty of water, I would look to a root problem, such as gophers, cotton root rot, or wooly aphid. This usually affects the whole tree though, and the new growth would hang limp. That being said I have 100+ apple varieties and all the trees themselves seem impervious to high heat (113F); however the apples have very mixed reactions to it, some baking to mush, some staying crisp and juicy. Heat alone should not be killing your apple trees.

Ok. That definitely helps to understand for the first set of plants. Thank you very much. I can get larger containers, at least to try some squash again, maybe not the climbers. I also do have a drip irrigation system in place (previous tenant), though I didn't use it because I was trying the sub-irrigated system. Will the drip irrigation improve my water management in this case, using containers with standard drainage? However, the second set of plants never reached more than about six inches high, including squash, and including those in new soil with lots of compost. Even at 3 inches high they were already yellow (after an initial week of green following germination). They only made small leaves, and they failed to grow further than 3-6 inches. In that case I don't believe it was space (yet). Most outer leaves beginning to die within days.

My cucumbers bottom leaves turned yellow. And they have dots on other leaves. There are tiny yellow insects under leaf. Please see image attached. Does it aphids? I found them on peonies, dahlias and roses, but these plants are not looking so bad. Thank you in advance for your help

There are more than a few reasons for this.You could be using tap water which plants don't like as it's more than toxic. Bottled water is just as bad as nine out of ten of branded bottled water contains bacteria and parasites which are bad for the soil and of course any living organism humans included.This is why if you leave bottled water in a hot car for a while it can go stale. Also mineral water is a total scam as inorganic minerals cannot efficiently be assimilated or even absorbed by the body as they are hundreds of times larger than organic minerals we are meant to consume from plants and algae etc. Nevertheless plants have no problem using inorganic minerals and converting them into organic minerals which is a huge benefit for us herbivore's. If you have any spare cash lying around the buy a water distiller for the plant AND yourself. The micro organisms in the soil will benefit drastically as will the plant from this. Also there is rumoured that distilled water is bad for your health because it robs you of minerals,another lie which is incorrect as it only takes out positive charge toxins and metals which are bad for you, in the cells and body systems and keeps good minerals etc in the body and cells.this is because it bears a negative charge which literally pulls crap out of every area of your body like a magnet. Distilled water is the best thing you can do for yourself and your plants in this day and age.....It's time consuming but it's definitely worth it. I really could go on and on so any questions you have make sure to ask me for answers.
