Are any nut trees suitable for Backyard Orchard Culture Method?

I'm starting to become optimistic about using the backyard orchard culture method for fruits - this year it looks like I'll get a bumper crop from my cherries, peaches, apples, figs, and pears, all kept to under 7 feet tall, mostly by summer pruning. Not counting my chickens before they hatch - but it's looking promising.

There are only a few small spaces remaining. I'm wondering if the method is suitable for any nut trees?

Almonds are probably not an option - peaches & apricots are already very challenging, and I'm not even that crazy about almonds. I suspect that walnuts can't be restricted to the small size (6 to 8 feet tall, 10 ft spread) that I use for the fruits. Probably also true for pecans? I don't know, I've never grown them. Hazelnuts? They seem to stay naturally somewhat small. Would a small tree produce enough to be worth the limited yard space that I have?

Have I left out any that might work? Cant grow macadamias in this climate (Don't I wish!)
